| And we're supposed to do what? We all want a relationship. That's why we're here. It seems like you're saying "here i am, come and get it"

| AWWWWWWWWWWWW those guys are not helping, are they? Carrying a torch sucks but if you think about this saying............... "be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" you might see that what you think you want may not be what you need. While you are spending your time loving him, you are not moving on and who knows, someone great might be just around the corner.
You are not together for a reason and even though it may hurt, you have to remember WHY you are not together.
Food for thought??????

| I can feel your pain...I am sorry you are experiencing pain...
They say it goes away when you have another person in your life...
to walk beside you, and be with you.
Actually, to be realistic you have to keep him away, and not allow him to
come back and stir up these reoccurring feelings. Either get in the boat,
and sail,
or leave the boat in dry dock.
Good luck...be strong, participate in healthy thinking, and being.
Exclude any negative person from your life..(that might include the X)

| I've read that it can take up to half the time of the relationship,I'm sure it depends on the individual.I still love my ex and think about her every day(It's only been a few months)but I won't call her or go find her unless absolutely necessary.Tell him not to come by anymore, especially if it hurts.

| I have been in your situation, and I can relate to your pain and what you are going through. It can take a long time to heal your heart. As others have suggested, you need to end one relationship, and find another. This will greatly speed the healing process.
The human is wired in such a way, that you cannot have two equal and opposite emotions going on at the same time. You can't be happy and sad at the same time! It's humanly impossible. Your brain won't allow it.
Your goal should be to find someone new, so you can adjust your focus on happiness with this new person, and gradually wean yourself off your old flame. It does work.
But you need to stop seeing your ex, which only puts a roadblock on your healing process.
Try it and see. Get involved with someone. It will take your mind off your ex more and more as you get to know this new person better.
It really worked for me. Took about a month, but I got over my ex, and I'm still over her.
Give it a try.

| well ok you nailed my biggest crime.
Waiting? Wasting? Wanting for seven years one guy.
Will he won't he?
Enough is enough!
I ushered in one more New Year's with a Scotch salute and said it was time for me to stop with the unconditional waiting and find life for me.....
His loss? Maybe. Or maybe he doesn't even care that he lost what he had I"ll never know and is it relevent?
I'm trying to not care any more cuz.....how many years is too many?
The Great Duke Tomato (ha ha ha! Anyone heard him?) sings a song about love and it never being enough, never giving up, always trying to find it's way to survive...
But eight years?
I don't know this answer but I'd like to.
Have lived alone and celibate waiting on a response.

| The feeling of true love never goes away. It just dulls with time, but there will always be that flame flickering within your heart for that person. IT F**KIN SUCKS, but the truth usually stings a bit!
