| I have a long pillow. My husband & I used to kiss each other good night, spoon a little & then he would turn his back towards me. I have the pillow where he laid & turn my back towards it...I pretend he is still there so I can sleep, most of the time it works, sometimes I can't fool myself

| I have my little dog that had slept between me and my husband and she still sleeps like that. I wake up during the night and check to see if she is in bed. It helps, since it was something that was done regularly.

| I have been known to hug a pillow once in awhile after my husband passed away. The night my husband died I came home to find some of his hair on his pillow. It had started to come off from his radiation treatments. I picked it up and saved it. I keep it in a heart container on my dresser and touch it from time to time when I get really lonely at night. I suppose some would think I was a bit nuts but I don't care. They haven't walked in my shoes. I think most reading this would understand.

| I cuddle with my 3 yr old son. Since his father died he wont sleep in his own bed, he sleeps in his fathers spot. Once he spent the night with a family member, I couldn't sleep!!! I tossed and turned all night.

| Joesmom, guess I'm not the only one who holds onto things. I have my husbands ponytail (soft silky silver hair) in a memory box, along with my sons wrist bands when he was born.
I miss them both terribly, but my zest for life keeps me going strong.

| I also sleep with my Manchester terrier. He gives me kisses before snuggling up in my arms to sleep. Keeps me warm too. I now sleep on my husbands side of the bed. Not sure why.

| Anytime, day or night, I get lonesome, I keep a bottle of his after shave....open it,
close my eyes and inhale....you'd be surprised how comforting it is.

| I just grab my large teddy bear and hold it. I can feel my hubby's presence in the room at times, though. I miss him so much.
Hoping to find someone special soon--cause I think the lonliness can kill you--if you allow it.
God bless you alll--Pat from Pa.
