| winks go in the trash, No one n the bar is going to wink at you...they just come up and talk to you. If he wants to talk he will email...so winks are like junk mail so dont wink, I know a lot of guys that dont do winks too....communicatins is better

Bah - for me I can only say it's like this:
I receive alot of winks - a LOT. At first I replied to all of them but like I b*tched and moaned about LAST WEEK I was spending my whole free time winking
(I never thought of what Mindy said about being in a bar - I musta looked like a retard with all the winking!)
I do not SEND winks. I NEVER initiate a wink. Period.
If a man winks at me and his tiny little picture intrigues me,
then I open his profile and read.
If he's ok and not a whack job I will wink back.
I see that inside my head and "Hey, how ya doing thanks for the wink!"
2nd step - if he sends me an e-mail back I always open, read and reply.
3rd step - if I replied "no thanks" and he writes me back I open and read -
if he's naked, or it's a body part photo, or he's crude I BLOCK 
if he's psycho I block, 
if he's thanking me and wishing me well; I acknowledge and give the same,
if he's continuing to ignore my no thanks, I'll be cool but brief.
4th step if he's someone I think is a great friend, enriches my day and makes me smile then I begin a communication back and forth - I have made some amazing new friends that way and their support is really awesome for me! 
Shadow people - I don't wink back to because I agree with Italian lady. 
I have shadow people in my friends list and have chatted with some, and most have reasons for no photo and I respect that. They have privately provided me with phots (of course it could be someone else - right, Sam Elliott???)
If a woman winks at me...I scratch my head, check her out and wonder....
but now I have made some amazing gal pen pals too so.....? You never know!
