| I am new to this forum,,and to dating,, I was married for 26 years to my high school sweetheart,, and unfortunately had to divorce her a year or so ago  From reading some of these post,, maybe it would be wiser,, to just buy a dog,, I can see now,, after going out only a few times,,, why my best friend has been single for over 20 years.
Where does a hardworking,, honest fellow find "the women of his dreams" ? Going to the bars is not my thing,, and this "on line" thing seems scary,,, I am open to your advice/ comments,,,,,,,

LAB. Go a head and get that dog. The love it will give you will be unconditional.
Don't give up on finding a lady for yourself. They are out there. You just need to put in the time and effort to find them. Nothing in life that is worth having comes easily.
Kick back and join in the forums while you search. There are many people that read these forums. Many never even post in the forums. They just spectate from the side lines.
Do a local search in your area and try to contact some locals.

I have threated to just buy a bigger boat and get a dog many times. However, I have found that there are some really decent women out there. But don't rush into any thing. You haven't been divorced very long and you had been married over 20 years? I was married for 12 years and with her for 18. When I got divorce I felt the same way you did. However, I have met at least 3 women since then that have restored my faith in women. The problem was I just wasn't ready for them.
I through myself right out there as soon as I could. BIG MISTAKE!! You need to step back and take a good look at yourself. Get to know yourself and what you want out of life and a mate. It took me 2 years of messing around dating all kinds of women before I decided that I was wasting my time. Let me tell you something.....there are women out there that will eat you alive if you aren't careful. Go out and meet new women......but don't rush into any serious relationship. In a few months or years one day you will be sitting there at your desk and all of a sudden it will hit you "WOW, I am ready to meet the right one." At that point you feel better about yourself and your life. The right kinds of women will notice that about you and than you will meet the one you want. Just don't hold your breath.
The cool thing about internet dating is, you have the chance of meeting women that you never would have had without the internet. Take it slow....be careful. Yes, there are women out there that want to hurt you. My rule of thumb is never call a woman that gives you here number in the first 3 emails.

| My brother once pissed on my carpet... it was a long time ago. He was sleep-walking and took a wrong turn to the bathroom (my room was right next to the bathroom) and he walked into my room instead in the middle of the night and started pissing on my carpet!!!!!
Well as soon as I heard the pissing noise I woke up and yelled at him and then he left. Very strange...
You'll meet a nice girl some place unexpected, like most people do. Go out have fun, and keep your possibilities open. You find love in the darndest places... next time you go to the grocery store, the pretty girl in line in front of you could be the one

| May I recommend a lab-pit mix. Spend a lot of time with him when he is young, and a more faithful companion you will never have. He is a cheap date, he won't insist you have to ask someone for directions while you are on a road trip, he will always be happy to see you when you get home from work, and you will never wonder if he loves you or not.

| Even if the dating thing happens to work out, a dog is always nice! I'm getting ready to buy another one after giving up my 5 in the divorce. Just bought a new house with a big fenced in yard and room to roam, so now I'm puppy shopping. Plus, they ALWAYS love you ... no matter what.

| GET THE DOG MAN!!!!!! no doubt.......they are such great companions that are ever loyal ....totally soulful....and really good listeners. They are great friends.......unfortunately....my girl Black Betty dropped me 4 new ones for christmas....just gave one away today to a good friend...two more are called for....still got one great looking pup to give away.
