| I just can't understand why most of the people on this site will not return emails. They act as though they want to get to know you and possibly meet you, then you stop hearing anything from them, even after numerous emails. Can anybody answer this? At least be respectful of peoples feelings and return their emails.Would you do your Mother or Father this way or perhaps your best friend?

| Those people like to play games and are attention wh*res. They wink, you respond back, and they sit back laugh and or delete your email.

| Sometimes a wink is just a response to something you have said in a thread. I do it if I like the way someone said something. I don't understand why winks are such a contentious issue.

| I never know the actual intent of a wink so I always at least write and say thank you after I've looked at the profile. If he wants to write back, thats cool, I'll write. I try to remember to treat others as I would like to be treated....very simple rule.

| 1. I assume a wink is just a hello. 2. if I would like to get to know the person better, I either wink back or more likely, send an email. 3. if I get an email back, great, some conversation. some it goes on for a while, some it dies quickly.
4. if there is no email back, I assume it was something I said or how I said it, or they just meant hello.
I don't lose sleep regardless of the scenario! And you can't either. You play the numbers. Some people are meant to be in your life somehow, whether a few emails, or friendship, or even romance; others aren't.
My motto is always It's You, Not Me, unless someone knows me in 'real life'. Then I am open to discussion!

| I only wink at friends...who know what my wink means.
I don't respond to winkers I don't know.
(You may feel free to substitute the word WHANK for wink in the above phrase)

| What rules says when you "wink" you must respond with a follow up with an emails or return any that are sent?
It is just a feature. Don't make rules for it. Or do what other people do, state don't wink me unless you are going to return my emails.
No need to stress over a site feature.

| If I get a wink, I email him and say Thank you, if I am not interested...If I am interested, I add more to it...of course both situations I have read the mans profile first. Call me old fashioned, but that is the polite thing to do. Why some people just don't get it!
