YES MINDY, YOU MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF MY THREAD please read the topic carefully before you post next time and stay on topic.

this post ISN'T ABOUT who chooses. this is specifically regarding men being single and.... re-read again because obviously you missed the point lol lol

i talked about who chooses in another thread "who calls first the man or the woman"
that post and my thread therein should clarify your statement.

And mindy just in case you didn't see my thread that I was referring to, I cut and pasted specifically for you, since you went off topic today lol

"I've asked women for their number in public.

Also, there have been times in public, I would have conversation with a new lady, and give her my number to call me. Everyone knows about *67. If she wants to block her number, that's fine because I know what I can bring to the table.

FIRST REMEMBER THIS. A MAN DOESN'T CHOOSE THE WOMAN. A WOMAN CHOOSES A MAN ALWAYS.
FIRST REMEMBER THIS. A MAN DOESN'T CHOOSE THE WOMAN. A WOMAN CHOOSES A MAN ALWAYS.

I give my number out for a couple of reasons.
1. You will know for sure if she's interested when she calls you. It's up to you to keep her interested.
2. If she has a boyfriend or not interested, she will not call you.
3. She may be dating, but something about you has sparked an interest, so she will call you.

Plenty, Plenty, Plenty of times when a man asks for a number one of the following would occur.
1. He will soon realize that she gave him a wrong number (she's taken)
2. He will call and she will put him off by saying "I'm busy" (she has someone already)
3. She won't answer, and he will leave constant messages for her and she will be laughing at his messages with NO INTENT OF CALLING Why? She's already taken or simply not interested.
4. She may be interested and give him the time of day.

Now am I saying never ask a woman for her number? No... Am I saying that nothing positive will happen if a woman gives a man her number? No.
I'm basically saying things that do occur and the reasons therein."

It is not about Valentine's Day, it is about putting yourself out there and trying. I tend to be less receptive the closer it gets to that day because at times it feels that SOME just want someone to be with on that day and anyone will do. To me, it seems to bring out the despirate SOMETIMES.

Sorry...
I believe you wrote that (twice), and very much correctly. She was just commenting the words that you wrote.
We do are slightly retarded probably...

^ Yes, I wrote it twice on the original thread "who should call first a man or a woman" to emphasize a point that a woman chooses it wasn't a typo
but yes, thanks, correct indeed

Valentines day. Women are more receptive Jan-Feb than any other part of the year. Why??? Obvious reasons.

It's also the time where a lot of couples break up. The dark side of human nature is indeed dark. Men usually do the dumping for various reasons. The one reason I thought was particularly cruel and juvenile was that he didn't know what to get her for Valentine's day or he was broke or he just was too lazy to get her anything so he broke up with her.

Must be too much pressure for some.

That is a good point ge

Never really thought about the guy not wanting or knowing what type of gift to give

I have known women who break up with the man because they feel or expect him to propose or give them a promise ring on Valentine's day if they have been dating for awhile and it dosen't happen.

Personally I always thought of Valentines day as kinda high schoolish. Passing out valentine cards in elementary school was fun and exiciting but now that I am an adult (kinda) the idea of valetines is great but I like to do things all year. I don't put it all on one day. There are birthdays, anniversaries, all kinda special days. Bestman is right, it is a good time of year. Soon spring will be in the air and thats the best time to get out and meet people and maybe find that special someone.

I have never been very receptive to being "picked up" near V day. As commercial as that day is I feel that if you are going to acknowledge it, it should be with someone special....and meeting someone in Jan or Feb does not give entitle them to "special" status. I and alot of other women, I'm sure, have no issues being dateless on V day, it's become such the norm in our society that many venues have started to cater to us single ladies....so why subject ourselves to a bad date or desperate pick ups just to say we had male companionship???

@ cool, i'm not saying every women is receptive, but more become more open before because of V-day. and yes, some women are ok with being alone because they just accept it for what it is and or because they have spent the past few years alone - not trying to say one should subject themselves to someone not compatible.

but let's be real here, nobody, man or woman deep down really doesn't want to be alone. everyone wants a companion in their life. real talk.
