Safiya48, I'm very, very sorry that living in the modern age with some semblance of such minor things as rights and equality offends you so much. That's a colossal lie. I love the progress that we've made towards equality, and hope that we make more. And for the record;

Yes, we were so much better off with slavery, religious and racial genocide, and no individual rights, and no medical technology in any way, shape, or form. And we would all be better off if you were literally the property of your father until you were married to someone of HIS choice, and the property of your husband thereafter. And I'll take a higher divorce rate over women being forbidden from leaving their abusive husbands any day.
