| Most of the scammers from other Countries think that we Americans, are stupid like that, for some reason or another, yet they still keep right on trying, hehe; in a way it's sort-of funny, but really it's absurd. I've only run across a small handfull here on this site. I think that Dustin keeps that pretty much in line. Keep doing what you do,and Under "NO" circumstances, tell "anyone" your personal banking information, which I'm pretty sure you "won't", being that you are Intelligent. It's not too hard to find these rogue scum-bags. When you find them, just send That cool dude who calls himself "Dustin", a little note to let him know what's happening, and he will administer the necessary "punishment", which these Idiots so deserve. At least I "think" he'll do what is right; he seems to be a pretty Intelligent individual. Just keep being yourself beautiful, and throw the scum in the can where they belong. Have a great mornin.

| I've received several emails from "ladies" who are likely dudes sitting in a computer room, posting photos of models out of magazines, and asking for your personnal email address, phone number, etc., and immediately telling me that they want to have a long term relationship with me, come here to meet me or have a sick relative they are paying $$ for to keep them alive. Beware, and turn them all in, let Dustin sort them out, and deal with them accordingly.

| I have only run across one...on Match.com. He said he lived in Ohio and was on business in Spain. He put a lot of time and effort in trying to develop the "relationship"...several weeks.
Then, I didn't hear from you for a few days. Came back online and said he had malaria. I checked online and there hasn't been a case of malaria in Spain for years. Then, he said that the illness had set him back financially and he needed money. Hmm...let me think...he's an international business man and he doesn't plan for the unexpected? And wouldn't have the money to deal with it? I don't think so.
In the end, when he started to ask for personal information, I called him on his scam....he got irrate, tried to turn it around to make it look like I was a scammer, and called me all sorts of filthy names...and immediately disappeared.

| You'll be very surprised at how automated these scams are. It could be a small syndicate running a very big operation. They can automate the e-mail volley process.
They contact you on a dating site and ask you to e-mail them off-site. Once you send them an e-mail their e-mail client (usually The Bat!) fires a form letter, about the fictitious person, to you with some pictures. You respond and then you get another automated response about their problem and it's always a cash problem.
I've had stranded in Africa, mom or pop murdered, don't have enough to buy books for college, Russians women looking for love in America and wanting you to pay for something or other.
I imagine that people actually fall for these scams on a regular basis or else why would they bother to try?

| I was chatting with one on yahoo messenger. Played along for awhile, waiting for the $$$ problem to come up. It came, this how I responded:
jw9t69 (2/11/2008 5:26:56 PM): Hmm..... well, that is a problem
jw9t69 (2/11/2008 5:27:34 PM): The other problem is that I already know about this type of scam

| When I first became aware of these scams, I did a search online. They give examples of the scams and some sites even give pictures being used by the scam artists. One of the women's photos...I had seen on Match.com.
They said that men fall for the scam more than women. A couple of the reasons why included #1..a "beautiful woman" is paying attention to them (when in fact it's usually a man)...and #2...it is instinctively built into men to want to help women...to rescue them...to protect them.

| Go to: AGENCYSCAMS.com It is a site devoted to educating potential victims on how to identify and turn in scammers. They have thousands of names and pics of the "models" that have many IP addresses and names for each one. The vast majority are in Russia, Ukraine, and some in France too. To get the URL and IP address of the origin country, you must set your email (temporarily) to Full Header in your "settings" window of your email. Then use "WhoIs" to locate where they are linking from to a local ISP. Another quick way to discourage them is to ask for their passport #, BEFORE you send them any personal info!
