I've run across this a few times and 90% of the time when a man is attracted to an older women it has been because his first sexual experience was with a much older woman. commments? I think it's more easily explained why people are attracted to others younger than themselves, but what is the reason(s) for being sexually attracted to older-- excluding the reason of money

Age to me isn't a preference. I look at the person as a whole not because he is older or younger than me. How does age make a difference on their maturity level??? I've dated different ages and sometimes the older gentleman acted more like their shoe size where as the younger gentleman acted more mature.

I think part of the appeal is being with someone who is established in their life. I was recently talking to a woman I work with about how it drives me crazy when guys who are beyond my age preference try to flirt with me, and she encouraged me to go for it because it would be a good experience. The thing that I could see with an older person is the whole establishment thing... personally, I want to be with someone who has their life together. My thing against dating someone considerably older than me or younger is the whole mindset... not the same as maturity, but more along the lines of what's important to us, where our interests lie... chances are, someone who is 35 doesn't listen to the same music I listen to, isn't as likely to attend the clubs I go to, enjoy the same shows, etc.

I agree with you Chop. For the first half of my life it was always an older woman. And as I've gotten older it really doesn't matter, as long as we click.

I don't think it matters, really...I get on best with friends who are 20-25 years younger than me, but doesn't mean someone that age would be romantically interested in me (dammit). I think age does matter to a lot of women, though, either that or they're just lying when they say 'I'm looking for someone my own age' and that's from people maybe 10 years younger.

I dated a woman that was 15 years younger than I after my divorce. There were really no problems until I figured out she was just along for the financial and emotional security after her divorce AND the NASCAR trips I took her on. Her two kids were the ones that really got hurt because the got close to me. Now she is hunting for another guy and the kids are a mess. I was married once and she was engaged 5 times and married 3 at her age of only 40. OK, just call me stupid now and get it over with. Age is not really a factor if you love each other. But, I think you must also be realistic. If you are a guy you don't start a family at 60!

Looking at the ages is somewhat like looking at the pictures and then deciding if you contact a person or not. Read the profiles and look for the real person first.

For me, the attraction to older guys is about being with someone who is more educated and mature than the guys my age. They also are usually more established in life and know what they want, which is attractive.
