| To me,romance does not equate to sex. It can, and often does, lead to sex but it is not the definition. Thinking of the other person, and doing something for them because you know it would make them happy is also romantic. what is your definition of romance, or better yet, what is the most romantic thing you ever did for someone or they did for you?

| Doing things for the person you love because you want to not because you have to. Making love because you want to not because it's required of you. Looking into his eyes and seeing how much he loves you and wants you. Oh and the occasional back rub isn't to bad either.

| I can tell you what it isn't.
String up lights around the bed to make a romantic setting
- only to be told that it looked silly
Asking for a kiss from the man you love
- only to have him fart and tell you There's your kiss
Putting little stickies with the words I Love You in places you'll know he'll find
- only to be told What the f**k is this???
Sometimes it doesn't pay to be romantic

| Jeez, chopper, sounds like some guy you had there. Most romantic thing I've ever done: first marriage, in NYC, my wife saw some boots she liked, but we didn't get them. New Year's Eve day, I got up at 3am, left without tellng her anything, flew to NYC from Cincinnati, went into Manhattan, bought those boots and came back that afternoon and gave them to her.....she loved it. Of course, later on she said I only did it so I could go to NYC again and take a flight (this was YEARS ago, my first flight), but it truly was just to get those damn boots!

| OK.. I have taken time to seriously think about this. This could be a bad thing. LOL.
To me, Romance can stand on its own, independent of sex.
Romance is an outward expression towards that special one.
A romantic gesture could be a form of communication, such as a note, a message, a card, or an email. It could be an unexpected gift. It could be an action, such as a massage, a foot rub, a prepared meal, a drawn bath, a "welcome home" hug, a glass of wine at the ready after a long day, a question "how was your day?" The list could go on.
It is always a reflection, thought, or action that lets one person know the other is important in their life. It forms a bond. It increases the closeness between two people. Regardless of its form, the purest romantic gesture is a gift, given freely, no pretenses, no expectations, no strings attached.
Romance comes from the heart. It is shaped by the action. It is given as a gift.
The recipient only has to accept it and say "thank you."
that is just my two cents!

| My definition is doing something for the one you love that is unexpected...like writing a poem, setting aside a special night to focus on just one another, or a surprise day trip. Prepare a nice warm bubble bath by candlelight followed by a body massage...nothing expected in return.
I would love when my ex would bring me a single flower...
Of course it was nice the time he set the bedroom up by pulling down the blankets, fragrance in the room and candlelight....mmm romantic. Then says I did this for you honey. I had popped home unexpectedly. Found out a few days later he had invited my sister over...she hated telling me but thought I should know. Ahh the romance of it all.
