I think - what works is taking the time to actually KNOW someone - really KNOW them. Not just surface.
But some folks make it work after brief knowing...and learn as they go - that oculd be good too.....keeps the mystery and the magic longer

| looking at red flags and observing all types behavior and making a solid decision on those things will help prevent a divorce later.
some things often overlooked
1. how one spends money - thus leading to financial infidelity in a marriage - hence finance is the #1 reason people divorce
2. how one tends to argue and always think he/she is right no matter what - if one cannot accept the fact that he/she can be wrong and cannot handle constructive critisism, the marriage will have many wars
3. how one raises his/her kids
4. how one acts when there is adversity in the relationship - we all know how people behave when things are rosy - THE TRUE TEST OF ONE'S CHARACTER IS WHEN CONFRONTED WITH ADVERSITY IN A RELATIONSHIP - WILL THEY RUN OUT ON YOU????????????
Said things above are often overlooked because
1. one gets too caught up in sex
2. one gets too caught up in tangible things such as big house, fancy ride, etc...
while those things are gravy, none of those things guarantee a marriage that will last. just ask all the couples rich, famous, and middle class etc... about divorce, and shedding out assets after the divorce is finalized.
