| Do you think of your feelings at night when you are alone and no one there to share your time, and the evenings coming home for work to a empty home, and the in between times, share with me what you do to make things better. | i hate being alone it is tough.its been a long 7months after a 10 yr marriage to who i thought would be with me and grow old together with.boy was i wrong.

| I'm somewhat introverted anyway, so what's OK for me may not be OK for you. I can always read. I've always read for escapism. The last 3-4 weeks I've spent too much time on here. I am also converting all my vinyl LP's to MP3's, a really time consuming project. I also like crossword puzzles and can find several on line daily. Bottom line is I just try to find something to do, I go out only rarely.

| I honestly look at it this way:
Yes, I come home to an empty apartment.
Yes, I have had an exhausting week.
No, I don't have anyone to curl up next to me. I don't hear "welcome home - how was your day?"
Does that make me lonely? No.
I prefer to live and enjoy life and NOT let it pass me by. I may go out dancing with a group of friends (often times a third wheel - lol). I have volunteered my time, talent and treasures to cook dinners for a shelter home.
I call my friends. I call my parents. I call my kids. I call my brother.
I am usually so exhausted at night, that the only thing I can think about is sleep!
If I start to think I am "lonely" at night, I just remember that I have SOOOO many other things to be happy for.
I refuse to make myself a victim of my circumstances. I choose my actions and direction instead.

| It does get lonely sometimes. I usually come online or watch tv. I try not to think about it. I've been alone a long time even though I was married...that is the worst kind of lonely..for me anyways.

| I relate with smilin_bob, I don't have a problem being alone. I am comfortable in my own skin now....I too refuse to be a victim of my circustances...in fact I chose my circumstances. I was more alone in a bad marriage than I have ever been living single.
I took three years to get to know and love me again before deciding to dip my toes in the dating pool again. I have gained back my self-respect, know my limits, and what I want in life.
