Because I don't trust women to use just birth control pills and not cheat on me... for obvious reasons.
Condoms not only cut down on diseases but they help reduce the chance of pregnancy.
And they help me last longer in bed.. makes clean up easier.

The point is not that you should have loved and raised the child as if it were your own. The point is that, in this scenario, you didn't *just* get revenge on the cheating girl. You also impacted the lives of many other innocent people, not least of which is the child, who certainly didn't ask to get dragged into the middle of all this.
I'm a firm believer that any time you have sex, whether using protection or not, you are auditioning that person as a potential parent to your child, because BC fails all the time. But, sabotaging it? Let's say that the situation were reversed; SHE was the one who was fixed, not you, and she decided to poke holes in your condoms.
I know how much you love to play Devil's Advocate and I honestly believe that beneath your cruchy exterior is a really great guy, so I'm hoping this is one of those times when you're just making us all put our heads to the side and go, "eh?"
BTW Gem - it's perfectly possible AND plausible to get sterilized at a young age. You might have to go a ways to find a dr to do it, but there will always be one, just like there are plastic surgeons happy to perform breast augmentation on 15 year old girls.
As for using condoms in a long term relationship - I didn't see him say that he'd been with her for years. Considering what she was doing, I'd say that continuing to insist on using condoms may have saved him from something a lot longer-term than a pregnancy.

Those were reasons why a man in a long term relationship would still use condoms.. also remember I didn't tell her that I had one...
