| Hi, my name is Lora. I am single and I have two teenage daughters living with me. I work full time and I don't go to clubs. I have always worked and when I wasn't working, I was home with my family. Here I am single and I do not go to clubs, so how do you meet people? So....here I am. Can't believe it.

| Thanks everyone. I understand that I can meet people online and have someone to talk to. Which frankly, beats what I have been doing so far. Has anyone had any luck making a connection?
I wish there was a singles group close by that would get together regularly to maybe just go places. I wouldn't dare walk into a club by myself.
Just trying to figure out a way to have some kind of a social life outside of work and my kids. I am just tired of sitting at home and living vicariously through my children's social lives.

| I guess that is the million dollar question, im new to this to and all I can come up with is to know what you want from this and not to misrepresent yourself to others. Being a little outgoing never hurts and surely someone will find us even the slightest bit interesting and want to talk to us? Who knows? I guess that is the whole fun of anticipation

| Good question, ladyinparis. I am dubious to say the least, with online "dating". Nothing beats an in-person meeting. I haven't been part of this scene very long. It has its benefits. For one, you can get a basic idea of the mindsets of countless people who seem to feel just like yourself. Being alone is not a very popular "condition" on here. I have been reading some very interesting points of view. Some of it really makes me think. I find I have been slowly but surely getting out and about town. It is amazing the people you can meet when shopping, dining out, attending concerts, etc. The club scene is definitely not for me. It harkens back to the day when we were young and didn't have an agenda or multiple obligations hindering our olfactory, sight, hearing, etc. Good luck on your search!
