| It never ceases to amaze me how these subjects are so often viewed and approached as being mutually exclusive. I do NOT believe they are. I do NOT believe this is a zero sum game. There are degrees of acceptability in each and every 'category'.

| > Ok, right back at you ladies. Do you want a man who is overweight or not? I get tired of the topic. Iam not now, but someday will be old, maybe bald, maybe overweight. We all probably will so I am looking for a different connection other than physical. Physical counts but not tops on my list.JMO <
I'm not overly fond of men, the way that I perceive most of them think and behave. But, on this thread, there appear to be some fine men chipping in with thoughts. It cheers me up (thanks, guys!)
onelife2live, you appear to be in fine shape now. It need not change. More than a year ago, I made the decision to permanently alter the course of my life, part of which was dropping more than 80 pounds and returning to daily workouts (weights, running, core exercising). I am wearing a size 32 waist pant for the first time since junior high school. Physically, I feel like a fit 30-something.
I'm 57 years old.
I think I was spurred to take this fitness step for several reasons, one of which was to improve my appearance for a return to dating. So far, though, I haven't been able to buy a date (laugh). I've decided that is beside the point, I'll continue to do what I'm doing for myself, first and foremost. If I can do this, anyone can do this. And, I'd urge anyone to do this. Vitality, energy, just feeling exceptionally good is a worthy end payoff in itself, imho.
Aging . . . it's a difficult concept for some of us to deal with (it is for me). But, it is possible to age gracefully, and weight control and fitness loom large in this area.
I feel so damn good I'm a little (a lot?) preachy. Hope my friends here will forgive me.

| The packaging has never been that important... I find the contents to be so much more valuable. But I am an active person and would want my significant other to be so as well. The results of aging show on all of us eventually. I think you are a pretty young woman and that special someone will see that also.

Beware my Cyclones next fall, huskertomboy! It will be a tough go for your guys in Ames. . . . (smile)
Just want to chime in and say that Mind and Body are relevant, not solely Body as my comment might make it seem that I'm saying. The content is key, the package relevant.

important is what is in side.

| Just browse through the pictures on this sight. Some of the most beautiful women you'll find are overweight. Its not the size that matters, nor what other people think. Its what you think of yourself that matters. And when you're happy with yourself, everybody else will see it.

| Sometimes I can't believe what I read...the truth is we are all visual, period...But it takes times to let another really find out what one is about in all areas of life. So yes we do look at the physical part first.....but did anyone resist running into their grandmothers arms that we can't wrap our arms around? Or did any of you ladies not walk slower for your grandfather? Girl just take your time....you will find whom is right for you...if your willing to search.

| and i say yes cause to me looks matter and it does to so many people but you also have to remember that it's how you feel when you look into someone else eyes. Either that other person loves the you that you love or they don't and you move on.
As long as you love you no one could love you better
