according to one version not the devil, as you put it but Lucifer, loved god so much that he would not bowl down to man.
You see there is a difference between Lucifer, Satan, The devil and the beast.
They are all really different characters originally, we just combined them all into one.
Lucifer was given the earth to rule for god,
But he rebelled against god for some unknown reason, so god cast him down to wander the earth till his appointment was completed.
Now rumored long dead.
Another version is that god gave Lucifer greater abilities to think for himself.
That god feared rebellion in heaven, so purposely created angles that we unable to rebel for some reason. But Lucifer being different saw god as the Evil one and his creation of man good and wanted to save mankind from it's horrible fate.
in modern MK occultism, God was not a god but a wizard and a wizard is not a wizard as much as he is a technocrat researcher but this god person went a little crazy and started to conquer as many planets as he could get his hands on, in an attempt to take over the galaxy.
Some claim as a puppet ruler of the barrier wall galaxies.
He'd appoint rulers to crush the population and keep them pinned to the ground, as the thing that those who have power fear the most is losing that power.
Lucifer was given earth but with his abilities to think for himself saw god as a lunatic and sought to overthrow him, liberating the galaxy from his grip.
Of course that was foolish since god created Lucifer, he wouldn't give him any abilities that he was not protected against, so the rebellion failed.
And finally Lucifer is call the morning star.

Venus is the morning star, the last star to set in the night sky before the dawn.
In ancient times the sun was viewed as a god, since they had no other explanation for it and it brought man light and warmth. So the sun being a big light in the sky, stars being smaller lights in the sky would be angles or lesser gods.
Night would be anti god.
You would think that there must be angles, stars in the day time but you just can't see them because the sun is so bright.
So these angles of night must be rebellious angles who went to the dark side, in opposition to god.
When the dawn comes, Lucifer the morning star falls to earth, sets behind the horizon and the sun god rules the world again. well until night time when it all starts all over again.
A setting star, Lucifer, Venus would be an angle falling to earth, since they didn't know of the rotation of the planets, that the earth was actually spinning and the stars and sun are relatively stationary.
Because Venus can still sometimes be seen in the daytime, at dawn, it is viewed as challenging the sun god's light for giving light to man during the day.
It is all just a whimsical myth to create an explanation of the heavens, since they didn't have TV back them, looking at the stars was their main form of entertainment. It's just that some dumb ass took it entirely too serious at one point in time and got a whole bunch of people upset about it.

If you love worshipping God more power to you, thats your American right, and there are alot of hypocrites in the church today, people lookin in need to see more Jesus and less hips, know what Im sayin now!
