| I was basically referring to the dancing if I may clarify myself,
I am aware of how absurd the lyric's can be but if you can just
listen to some of the good stuff it is a form of poetry. Me being
a musician I cover the whole spectrum from Mozart to Korn and appreciate
all music if done well.

| I am too damned old to do the head spins and far too white to be good at dancing in the first place.....Yet I dig some of the tunes.....I really like Korn's live version of Jump Around and thier version of word up.
Oh I do gotta say....give me a mosh pit anyday!!!!!!!

| LOL mosh pits. Took my son to his first heavy concert when he was 8 and the idiots in the band actually asked if they could bring him on stage and use him as one of their "doves" (the poor fool who gets launched into the crowd). I laughed and said hell no. He was well guarded that night, by 4 adults, despite being allowed to "exoplore new things".
The music, sucks big time. Sooooooooo sick and tired of hearing the same thing over and over and over. Almost the exact same beat, to the point where most all sound just like the next. NO originality, and pretty much disgusts me how so many of them just rip music that was written by someone else. These "remakes" are just a good example of how little real talent the song "writers" have, and yes, I have noticed which category does the most of it, rap. Won't tolerate that boing boing headache music in the house or the car.
Now the dancing, that takes physical talents, and that I can respect, just like gymnasts.

| harrychronic that video was the bomb! great dancers!
the only way my mom agreed for my dad to teach me martial arts was if i took a dance class to so i wouldnt be so tomboyish. i ended up taking modern dance for eight years, and so i have a background in "acceptable" dancing. however, the high energy of break-dancing doesn't compare. its high energy, its fun, and it was created by young people and, like rap music, crosses all lines and boundaries.
breaking and rapping started in the black and latino communities and it has spread all around the world. ive heard french, german, korean, chinese, arabic, african, spanish rappers and also seen breakers and hip-hop dancers from all over too. if they had more breakdancing in the gym classes we might not have so many kids with weight problems as we do now.
i like rap but im selective about the kind i listen to. the rap i like is called "conscious" rap. they rap about current events, relationships, politics, history, justice, love, topics about the human condition but they don't curse (unless its in context) and they don't disrespect women. its about people and communities coming together just the opposite of the ignorant "gangsta rap" or stupid songs about "my bling, my jewelry, my car, my women, my gun". its a shame that most people let that kind of music represent what they think of as rap. actually i find rap very close to country music in that they both tell very visual stories.

| I personally think that the name of the dance is directed at me: If I hop on the floor and start to do this dance, I will break a hip! I have to tell you guys, enjoy it while you can! Because, in the not too distant future, you will pay for everything you ever did to your body in your youth! I have had 3 knee surgeries and two shoulder surgeries, and I am still very active. Unfortunately, the mind remembers the moves, long after the body has forgotten! I had to stop playing my sons one on one basketball. I kept trying to move, but my feet seemed strangely glued to the ground. Today, the only dunking I do is Oreos in milk. I am very good at it though! As for break dancing, I already pop a lock! Every time my knee locks up on my I have to pop it!
