I just heard on a news program that 1 out of 4 teenage girls (14-20) have an STD... I just don't understand why people don't take this subject seriously....just wondering about the rest of you out there? Sky!

Wow. That's sad.

Obviously those teenage girls aren't protecting themselves and don't know the consequences of having an STD. And what a young age to be sexually active anyway.

Something like this should be taken seriously. Because it can lead to something serious like HIV/AIDS.

yes we do need to take this seriously. Now, 150 years ago, most people married at a very young age, and that was acceptable then, given the fact that we really didn't have much of a choice back then, if we wanted to have a family. STD's are a big problem in the world today, and we need to "teach" our youth a little better on that subject.

There was a follow up in the Buffalo paper today.
The highest percentage of stds is in Black americans.
whites-mexican and latino were all much lower.
It is a scary subject, but one I have talked with
my Grandaughter about constantly. She is 16 and
her dad instilled some good qualities in her.
With him gone, I gotta carry the ball.
If more school education and parental education
was given, I think this could be slowed way down.
