| I am wondering if there are any others here feel mildly irked when you take the time to fill out your profile, make clear and to the point statements, and still you receive messages or winks that bewilder you.
My profile clearly states:
Please don't contact me if you are out of state. I don't believe in long distance relationships. I am not looking for friendship with anyone over 45 yrs of age. I will not respond to winks. If you send a message I will respond.
Still I get winks or messages from out of state men, or men 60+yrs.
The nail in the coffin for me is I actually took the time to respectfully respond to several of these redirecting them to my comments in my profile.
Do men only look at the pictures and disregard everything else?
Oh one last thing gentlemen, I don't believe you have a Ph.d or you are in communications when there is no capitalization, no punctuation, and a very muddled train of thought to the point I get a headache just trying to understand what you were attempting to convey. This is not a way to woo a girl. Even typo's are more understandable and easily dismissed.

| I completely agree with you! Winkers/Emailers should not assume we are going to be interested just because they contacted us. Especially when it's obvious they did not take the time to read the profile. Many do stop at the pictures.

| I don't find her concerns griping, bragging or complaining. It's true. The profile exists for a reason. If someone is too lazy or rude to read it or choses to ignore what I say, why would I want to date them???
If the shoe were on the other foot, I think you gentlemen might agree.

| I find hers one of the better-written profiles.
As to high standards, she is somewhat humble: she describes herself as average, yet her photo (if accurate) shows a slender, attractive woman, well photographed.
The comment about being worth more than "money in the bank" might be construed as a bit self-promoting, but these sites encourage some degree of self-promotion in order to compete with those that blatently lie.
I think she'd have better luck contributing in the fora and reading what others have to write -- she may find the perfect partner that way, rather than through a profile, which is little more than a static ad.

| (laughs) Well again as with written word you remind me that it has to be left up to
interpretation because I clearly failed to convey my intentions and meaning in my original post. My fault. I assure you the words spoken in my head came across much differently.
My intentions are to understand where I was failing in being as direct and honest as possible. I felt that with so many men requesting to meet someone who is honest, and not into playing games that I was showing a sign of respect for their time. I take no pleasure in the discomfort of "shooting a man down".

| awakeing: I think you were perfectly direct. Honest? Well, I don't know you, but I would have to presume so until proven otherwise.
You will find that a large percentage of responders to your profile will either not have read what you wrote (so it is irrelevant what you say), or get their jollies responding to you when they are clearly not what you are seeking.
It costs nothing to be rude to you so there is no deterrent for those who chose to do so.
One thing you can do is to have a simple question or riddle in your profile the answer to which you require in the subject line of any response -- that is one quick way to filter out those that didn't bother to read it.
Oh, and the rude responses? Do not be shocked as to how rude, and graphic they can be.

| It looks like they just look at the photo and go from there. You have done nothing wrong in putting what you did in your profile. They should show more respect.
