| I have dabbled in various forms of writing over the past few years, poems, prose, anthology, and short stories. I occasionally submitted some poetry online at poetry.com. But for the majority of my writings, I have kept them tucked away in a notebook, adding to them as time goes by. A few months ago, I wrote a book and was fortunate enough to have it published. I would like to share the first paragraph here with everyone.
SUDDEN STANDSTILL
She will never forget the moment. It was June 20, 2005 and the time was six thirty in the morning. She sat on the sofa with her knees drawn up under her and her hands lay clasped in her lap. At that precise moment in time her whole world felt like it had come crashing down. All if her hopes, dreams, and plans had come to a sudden standstill. Her mind held only one thought. "Should she stay or should she go"? She knew in her heart she was at a very important crossroad in her life. The ticking of the clock in the background became louder and louder as she relived the last twelve hours of her life. The answer she chose was going to make all the difference in her present and future down the path of life. So many emotions were running through her mind and body. She felt lost, abandoned, used, scared and confused. Her body was trembling from the very core of her being and shaking visably from the assault. She took one last deep breath as she closed her eyes, laid her hands upon her chest, and asked her heart what she should do.
