|  I will apologize up front if this has been addressed before. But I'm too mad to go through the posts to see if it has. So bear with me....
I just talked to a guy in my hometown (don't know him, thank heavens) and he seemed like a nice guy. Exchanged a few brief emails, then he asks if I have any lingerie. I said no. I'm thinkin' "I know where this is going..." Long story short, he says this site is called DateHookup - the literal translation of hookup being "I'm just here to find sex." (I know what hookup means, but I didn't necessarily think that by putting my profile on here meant I'm looking for a f--k buddy.)
Is this what EVERYONE thinks when they put their profile on here? I mean, am I stupid in thinking that this is a DATING site that could possibly lead me to a guy I might want a relationship with? I eventually want sex too, but that's a bit down the road!
If this is literally just a place to find a sex partner, then I'm out of here.

| No Mame that is not what this site is about, yes there are areas here for that, but not the main forums and not why I think most are here..
I want a woman to fall in love with, date, have fun, sex is never a topic to discuss right away.. That comes when it does..
Just ignore those idiots like that.. if they keep bugging you, put them in on ignore...
You wont have to deal with them then or just delete his emails.

| Maybe they should've rethought the name date hookup because it does sound like that at first and some people do get that impression. But NO this is not the site to find a fu*k buddy. It is a good site for making friends and finding relationships. You just have to weed out the bad ones and continue in your search. There's a lot of good people on here. Just continue participating in the forums and you can learn the charactor of most people. Don't give up, just learn to use the delete and block feature.

| I'm sorry that happened to you.  To me this site is only about dating, not a sex hook up! I'm also hoping to find someone special, but no matter where we go whether it be on the internet or out in public, their is always jerks like that! | That's where we guys get a bad rap. The bull in the pasture syndrome. Like DUH...... When some of these buttheads pull their cranial cavities out of their anal openings, it will be better for some of us that realize there is more to a woman than sex. If they just stopped to think that quite possibly a woman may like intimacy in her life too. Quite frankly you gals are just a little classier as a whole on how you go about attaining that very thing. I have female friends that have told me horror stories about what guys have said to them on the internet, and the pictures they have been sent. Just kick the guys like that to the curb. | I see this site as a place to meet friends that I would never have the chance to meet otherwise.Most of them will never get the chance to meet face to face, but will help lift your sprit, just knowing them threw conversation. I do hope to meet that someone special, But also enjoy the good company of just talking the the great people on this site.

this IS a dating site, and if you stay long enough, it turns into a friendship site and that's ok too...it fills the boring nites at home and provides alot of drama and entertainment that you don't get on TV.
