| Ha...good luck with that one. I always date the guys who think that they are going to prove it to me. Lets face it, if you have to change who you are, what are you proving. Maybe that you start relationships out with lies--maybe that you genuinely want to be that person but cant be. All I know is that I am sick of it.

| hey steak thats a great question....everyone has a different idea on what normal is and at 45 years of age i have only over the past few years figured that out......... its a fine balancing act........doin the hard yards and working out what works for you both..but there will never be a full happy medium........

| Hey steak...Normal to me is someone who will be a sweet guy and snuggle you when you are alone, treat you when you are sick, love you at all times, and never lie to get you out of a rough reaction.
New Jersey is full of guys that dont want to grow up and constantly use girls for sex. I have morals and its hard to give the time of day when the first thing they try to do is get in your pants.

| iam a guy that is not like other . i see love as something better the sex are money .
to me its about proveing who iam . i see women as a person that have deep feeling and i respect that deeply .
what women don't understand is that men yes all men see the sex in them first . not the beautifulness inside.so after they meet a woman and that see that they are not going to get the butty so easy . men back off .
me myself i look ahead i think of the thing that happen afterward
like will she enjoy being around me are would she understand that as lover we should build thing together, would she be thinkfull that i'll been over backward to please her and so on and so on .

Takes two people to have sex.. unless these men are raping the women I don't think anybody is being used.
Perhaps women should stop putting out so quickly while lying to the guy then getting pissed off after he doesn't want to start a relationship?

| Wow, talk about setting yourself up for failure. If you go into new potential relationships with the expectation that the guy needs to prove to you that he's not a jerk, you're putting a lot of unnecessary pressure on him. It's not the new guy's responsibility to deal with your baggage. That would be your responsibility. Best of luck to you.

| I am with Grn on this one..and although I am sure that you are a nice person I don't believe that going into a first date with lofty expectations of how the guy SHOULD be is beneficial , you may want to take an objective look at how he IS. You may be surprised that what you had quantified in your mind as the "ideal" may be shattered by so much more....Just remember that if you want to be accepted for who you are as a person you must be willing to give the same in return. My uncle used to say.."Even swap aint no swindle boy" and a more profound statement, albeit rudimentary is more applicable to this thread.
