| recently in a conversation with a female she made the comment i was an aquired taste now ive been asking around in my circle but i think i need to bring the question to the masses and figure out if i should be insulted or not, my personality is something i would describe as neutral i dont chase for real im not a sex hound i am conversational obseverant mildly opionated and comfortable in my own skin and not overly concerned with what people think, as it was put to me to know me is to love me to know me is to hate me but truthfully i just dont get it

| Well I could be wrong, but I would say it means that you 'grow' on people. The more you are with them the more they like you. Or you may not make a great first impression but that changes as time goes by.
Just a guess here since I don't know the person who said it.

| An acquired taste is something that is difficult for most to pallet immediately but after time and enough repetition with that component it becomes a significant or luxurious commodity. example: caviar to most people is an acquired taste!
What do i think this ment.. I think your lady friend was telling you, you would be someone who would have to grow on her over time!!! but look at the bright side, she totally didn't discount it as a possibility, either!!

| Acquired taste is NOT a bad thing!
Simply put, as some others have said, the first impression you give might be shy, rough, reserved, quiet, etc. After people talk and get to know you, they like you more.
School teachers are often like this.. Very strict with their class during the first months of class. Then, kids start to notice.. "Ya know something, that teacher is a lot better than I first thought."
It is all good!
I wish you the best!

| It means that you really did nothing for her at first glance but over time she realizes that you are something very GOOD.

| I agree with the others, although I wouldn't have put it that way "aquired taste". I've met men that I was not physically attracted to at all, then fell in love with them. Twice as a matter of fact, and very deeply in love. But I would never have told them that and to me this "aquired taste" thing is sort of like that.

| It's a good thing in my opinion. People who are an "acquired taste" take a little getting used to. But they are usually very strong people with a good sense of justice and don't suffer fools.
