| SO i started a new job and was introduced to all the people in the main office. All of 50 or so are women but maybe 2 guys. Then as I was setting up my workstation and computer (which I hate and always screw up) there comes along this guy...Rick. The IT guy who doesn't wear a wedding ring and whose name shows up as a single man in the Kent Co. records for property owners. This guy would be so cool to get to know. he likes those funny jabs and is really sweat and funny.
But the golden rule is not to date people through work. DAMN DAMN DAMN.
The other thing is that I'm not sure he's "flirting" or receptive to my subtle flirts. God he's just perfect.

| Hi, that does seem to be the rule every where. Most people that are co-workers should not date. But the reason I am replying is because I meant my husband when we were both working for this company, which did not have a rule about dating co workers (which the company did change after we left), anyway we ended up moving to another state and we worked at the same casino until his death last year and we were the best of friends. No one ever saw or heard either one of us say a bad thing about each other. So what I am trying to say is that sometimes good things come from dating a coworker. So if your company doesn't have rules saying don't do it and you both could keep work and private your private live separate, whos to say you could not go out and have fun. JMO...

| You two met for a reason. If you're into each other, go for it. Just take your time, and follow your gut. Or your heart - whichever you trust more.
Good luck!

| I may have caught his eye. he makes little efforts to come down from the IT office to make a little jab at me.
I could find another job...this is through a temp service and I'm not completely happy there, but it will do till something better comes along. i just wish i knew if he was being cute or flirting.

| I have to agree with those who say "don't do it". Relationships may come and go, jobs may come and go, but your reputation will follow you everywhere. Your career is the key to your independence and self-sufficiency, why risk it?

| I'm with crafty on this one. Work relationships can sometimes lead to an ugly scene. You don't wanna be there.

| My ex was my boss's secretary. As soon as we started dating, she changed jobs. If you think that he is worth changing jobs over, or that he would change jobs, then go for it, but otherwise, don't break the rule!

| I got involved with someone at work once and it totally blew up in my face. I had to leave because he started being so rude to me afterwards and then I found out he was only doing it to make another woman there jealous

| ok. i'm not going to break the golden rule. just being all giddy and out of control about when i'll turn the corner and see him is making me sick. I don't want to spend the whole day not concentrating on work. he passed my desk and i felt the color drain from my face. Not Cool. He's cute and in way different circumstances i would go for it...but not this one.
