| I went into a forum last night. I am relatively new to this whole thing (3 weeks). I have noticed people having fun and cutting up. I thought to myself, wow, what a great way to get to know people.
I went into a post by bestman something who gave some advice on relationships. A few people had answered back and said thanks for the advice, so, I had just received an email about 9 words women use. Apparently, this has been around for a while, but I had never seen it and thought it was hilarious. It was words that women say (Like "fine"!) and what we mean when we say it. So, I thought, relationship advice...and humor...bonus! I posted it. Bestman came back and said that it was off topic, and gender biased, etc. I thought, I was just trying to participate and have some fun. I felt like he didn't want me to steal his glory by being praised for being such a knowledgeable advice giver. So, I came back with, Well Dr. Phil...
Then a woman said that she had put that same thing in 9 months ago...it is soooo yesterday, I guess.
He blocked me! I cannot post in his forums nor he in mine. WTF! I was trying to join in and make friends and was bashed and banned.
Will someone please tell me what the RULES are for trying to have fun and meet new people on here? Is it against the rules to waive from the topic only slightly?

| It's up to each OP in deciding who can post or not post in their threads. I've been blocked from just saying Hello to a newbie in the intros. It wasn't offensive, I was just the wrong gender to her. Some OPs only want to hear what they want to hear in their threads and to me that isn't what the forums are for. I've only blocked one member on this site and it was because he threatened me and he has never posted in the forums. I do get hate mail but I've never blocked them. I figure they are just venting and it is their opinion. Just like these forums, they are only opinions. Some people's children

| No worries... life goes on. Some people like the control (my thread, my likes kinda thing) so it can be a hit and miss situation. Keep posting, keep expressing your opinion, keep having fun. I am not sure what the rules are because, quite frankly, I never read them nor will I ever. I have some issues with rules.

| I was completely freaked. I just thought I was adding some humor. I thought he would say that was cute, or so true or something, but to slam me for not sticking to his point??? What is an OP anyway? (I told you I was new)
If someone posted something funny in a post of mine that was serious and I didn't like it, I would ignore it. People leaved a thread when they go unnoticed. I have figured that out at least. Some people have been so nice and fun to play around with and then others are so serious they do not see the fun, nor the "point" of this whole site.
OH, and I did tell him that if he was so damn knowledgeable about relationships then why was on a singles dating site. Seems to me he should be married for twenty plus years huh?!
Truthfully, I was surprised anyone said "great post" to him. I thought it was kinda weird considering the kind of site this is. I thought some humor might lighten it up.
I am through whining now though. Thanks for answering me though. I was thinking that I missed out on the rules page or something.

| Paris Now I will admit that I have bombarded newbies but its because they come in thinking that they know everything there is to know about everything!!! They start sticking up for people that have disrepected people that have been here for some time and have earned the respect they get!!! I don't warm up well to new people I will be honest about that I wanna see how they are first my own trust issues i guess you could say!!! But I don't go bashing anything funny even if I'm being serious!!! I don't block people for their opinions in the forums either don't see the logic behind that I will block people for excessive messaging and hate mail though!!! I'm working on two years here and well the forums are what you make of them. Don't stay stuck on something just move to a place(thread) that seems more comfortable to you!! I always tell people who email me asking about the forums is that jus be respectful until you get disrespected then well fair game deal with how you see fit!!! But Hey JMO
BTW Are you originally from Paris TX and/or surrounding area?!?!?!?

| Original poster! duh! Thanks.
He is quite the smug ass! lol I know you are not into rules and everything, but have you seen a page on here that gives you the names of all the acronyms that are continually used on this site. I know lmao and lol. figured those out... but the j--something??? Before this site, if I was going to show laughter in an email or something...I wrote "hee hee".
All of this derived from that doggone text messaging didn't it?
Why can't people just call??? It takes me 30 minutes to reply with a yes, when I could have dialed, got a busy signal, and dialed again to just say it!
Isn't there something in the text book of etiquette to not text anyone over the age of 40???

| Well, I have been in Paris Texas for about 15 years. Prior to that, I was in Belton, TX, but I was born and raised in Oklahoma. But...I do not want to live there now that I have a choice.
I can take some bashing and bantering back and forth, that can be fun...and I fully expected him to come back with something after I called him Mr. Phil. (I thought it would be funny even---just because I was so astounded that I had received the response that I did in the first place.) A simple, "Lady ...this is a serious conversation..please take your humor to a humorous post".. I would have just apologized and left.
OH! I figured out was JMO is...just my opinion! It is easier when you look at it in context.
One of these days I am going to be a forum efficienado! (Is there a spell check on this...I need some assistance with that one. lol)
Oh, and I'll see you at the killing threads post! I know I can do that one and I am good at it too! lol

| Hi Lady, my advice, sit back and peek a lil bit in the chatroom, get a feel for the threads and people in there, doesn't take long to find where you want to play and if you don't see where to go, create it. Life is what you make it and more humor is always needed everywhere
Welcome and have fun!
