| Tried going to the movies solo a couple of weeks ago, got to the front door and bailed.
Movies just need to be done in at least pairs. I'll wait for the DVD.

| I know what you mean. It's worse for women. When I've been out alone i've felt like a hooker looking for business. It usually turns out ok because I am in no way shy.
My advice to you is work on making a good friend or two so that going alone is no longer a problem.
You never know, there maybe someone else there going through the same thing.
Also, just now I have put On my profile the area where I live saying I would like to mee t some decent people for friendship.
Good Luck.

| Movies are easy but being a female I would not go to a bar alone. What on earth would they think?
I have mostly married female friends who offer to do things when I have my alternate weekend free. Otherwise I hit the video shop and hang there with all the other lonely singles............LOL

| I'm pretty much a homebody but on occasion do go out. Being that I'm not seeing anyone I went to the movies just last night......alone. I've done so many times in my life, if I waited for a guy to do something with.........I'd never do anything. I'm very independent...I don't like being alone but together is just not in the cards for me and I accept it. BTW Shutter was a very good movie.

| I know going out alone can be boring, but it's also what you make it. If you don't have a date, take a friend with you. I do that. It's fun, and sometimes more fun than a date since you are totally comfortable with your friends. Just an idea.

| i'm never alone, i always have my kids with me unless by the sake of the LORD my parents take the kids for the night and I get a chance to relax. i have gone out alone to the bars and movies and stores. i get a lot of attention from guys and believe it or not girls too. it flatters me, but i've never left any place just because i felt alone or like a 3rd wheel.
you gotta roll with the punches. give yourself some grace time. next time just stick around for a few see what happens.

| I don't mind going out alone. I guess I got accustomed to it while traveling on the job. I have met and dined with some very nice people, male and female, that were also alone and waiting for a table in a rest.

| Sometimes I wonder if I have gotten to the point that I really enjoy going out alone, more than I do going out on a date. If I go alone I get to go where I want, when I want and have the opportunity to meet who I want. For me, it's really no different that when I was in my marriage.
Seriously though, it's hard at first, but it does get easier. I used to sing in a band, just because the band broke up, didn't mean I wanted to stop singing. So, I found a couple places locally that do karokee and go there ALONE. Let me tell ya, I didn't even get through the first night having to sit there alone. When you go to things that you are interested in, you meet others who like them too....and then before you know it, you are surrounded by a new group of friends.
It's been almost 4 years sice that first night I walked into the karokee place. I still "GO" alone, without a date, most of the time, but I'm quickly greeted by many friendly faces upn arrival.
The other thing is, that when we see a new face walk in, we really try to make them feel welcomed, because we know what it's like when you are just starting out.

| oh ya, I figure if I just smile and say hi, then I'll know someone, and next time I go there I have a friend, most people are nice and if you have a smile on, and just strike up a convo, most people will talk back and if they don't, well, talk to some one else, the thing is to be nice, and have fun.
