and was kicked off at Fort Bragg, NC, by 75 members of the Patriot Guard - www.patriotguard.org - on 64 motorcycles for 494 Pre-K through grade 4 children.

It was an emotionally charged and very moving ceremony graced by several hundred American flags. Every child, teacher and member of the staff had a small one and most of the bikes had at least one and some had two. If you had been there you would understand why every member of the Patriot Guard wears sun glasses and usually has a handkerchief in a handy pocket. but

If you would like to see photos of nearly 500 children waving the American flag, send me an eMail.

More importantly, if you know any children of military families, give them a hug, tell them you love them, and tell them how important they are to everyone.

Randy:

Kids of military members have a rough life. Father, or mother on deployment. Moving from this base to that base and losing friends from this. It's not an easy life. Not by a long shot! I firmly believe that military kids need a lot of support and guidance. They are facing things that civilian kids can't understand.

My hat is off to you and the Patriot Guard Riders. GOOD JOB! WELL DONE!

As someone who remembers, it is also pretty freaky to these poor kids when their parent comes home all bandaged up and unable to care for themselves. Small children see their fathers especially as ten feet tall, bullet proof and invisible. Seeing him that way really scared me. He healed up and got back on his feet again, but I don't even remember ever seeing my father walk without a limp. Makes it hard not really being able to forget. Gonna be a lot of kids having those same feelings as long as this war goes on.

Randy...I've seen the Patriot Guard group many , many , many times...They are a awesome group of people...I do alot of military support stuff...So I've seen the pain of the little ones whom have parents in the military...But they are so proud of their moms & dads whom serve this great nation...Their smiles & tears say it all...

We have a "Support Our Troops" parade in Raleigh 26th April...Do you know if the Patriot Guards will be there

Anything we can do for the families of those who serve our country isn't just a good idea, I feel it's more of a duty.

While they are overseas protecting us any extra stress we can relieve by them knowing their families are ok let's them do a better job and increases their chances of coming home alive and whole.
