| because she makes him look good in public as his mate. Or should he date/marry her because she makes him feel good as a man? This is something that came up between my friend and I and it really makes me angry because men feel they have date the best looking women to show them off as a trophey. Women are not to be trophies but lovers, friends, mates, companions, the other half of one's self. Don't date/marry me because I make you look good date/marry me because I make you feel like a man!

| It goes both ways, seems today alot of women have this mentality as well-see the post "why can't men read". I will go out on the limb here and say honestly, everyone wants someone they are physically attracted to, then of course a matching/complimenting personality to oneself and a great sense of humor. For me many of the profiles I read from ladies mostly state that they will date a guy 10-15yrs younger, yet only date a man 3-5 yrs older??? Seems unrealistic to me, anything more than 10yrs is a generation, not to say that the rare find isn't out there. But society always seem to behold the men being older than women in relationships, is this because women mature faster than men?
or as we age our looks fade at the same rate?? I have often heard women say men age better than they do. But I do think that there are those out their that want the trophies to hang off ones arm, me I'd rather have the later. As the looks fade one must really like who is sitting across the coffee table everyday!!! just my thoughts

I'm one of those women who would date a man 10-15 years younger and only 3-5 years older. It has NOTHING to do with looks. It's simply the fun factor. In my experience, I find the guys younger than me are a lot more fun and are willing to get out and do things. The older guys I've dated seem to want to sit home and watch sports on TV and drink their beer. I know there are exceptions to every rule, but so far in MY experience I haven't found the older guy who can keep up with me.

| I myself would only date a man 2-3 years younger and 10-15years older. Looks aren't important at all to me it's the way we communicate with each other his sense of humor, honesty, way he treat me as his woman.

| Ditto! Smilingkayaker.
My girl friends mostly are of the same age
as the guys I like.
Is it pre-programmed into our minds?
No matter I love the way we get along together.

| I, too, fall in the category of wanting a man who is younger than me rather than older simply for the reason that I love teenagers and I would love to be a step-mom to some. Since I am 47 and my son will be 21, I assume that most (not all, of coure) men with children in their teens are going to be younger than I am.
