| I assume when he said he was 'booked up', he also did not reveal what was on his agenda.
Shoot, there are times when I may be busy for a weekend occasion that involves my children (a weekend musical competition). That does not mean I am out of touch. I can still be reached, and I still stay in touch with others.
As the others have said, he obviously is not putting you very high on his 'relationship ladder.'
