| im 33 been on my own since 16 most men i meet just want to spend every moment of their day glued to my hip and i cant stand it . i like to have time to my self and enjoy my own hobbies.this makes me want to stay singal . clingy men make me want to run run runn. i would just like someone who could spend time with me and spend time with their own hobbies .is this to much to ask for?

| well it sounds like you have a bit of a commitment problem. Why is it always the guy's fault? Ever thought that for 16 years and you didn't want to be with anyone, that the problem is YOU??? If you don't get straight on that fact, then your life really is hopeless. I mean the odds are against you hunny. That 16 years of men, and you just kept hitting all the wrong targets? Either, you completely fear commitment so in order to avoid that fact you dump them and blame it on.. clingyness? Which is moronic at best. Or you have such a horrible taste in men that you consistently pick the worst of the lot, in which case, you are equally hopeless. So instead of posting some lame comment on what a great fabolous person you are, and MEN are the problem, maybe you should start looking at yourself.

| I enjoy my solitude, my time with my friends and my time away from my guy(if i had one )....clingy guys actually freak me out...its especially bad when they call ALL the time...

| I love being with the man in my life but I dont like being smothered. I need my own time as well as he does.(I dont have a man right now)but, for the relationship to work, he must also have outside interests as I do. I like to have the man in my life as my best friend, lover and confidant but that doesnt mean that we need to spend each and every spare moment together.

| i think muffycakes has hit the nail on the head.i did not say in my post that the men are bad people i think some men when they start to date someone they think a women wants to spend all their avalible time with them .but sometimes a little alone time keeps the relationship stronger more exciting .

| I dont think it has anything to do with committment issues. Ive been in long term committed relationships but totally understand feeling the desire to back off when a guy gets too clingy. Im not referring to someone youve been seeing for a while and they call a couple times during the day or want to spend time with you...that might be a normal progression in a healthy loving relationship. I think what tracey meant was when you first start seeing someone or just meet them and they cant seem to live without you, immediately. When someone shows themselves to be needy and insecure with themselves or trying to control all of your time,a smart,together person would want to back away. JMO

| really though if a girl starts out talkin to a guy, met him and she calls him everyday and night for a month straight and she stops, if he calls and gets no response and calls some more and she cuts all conversations short and or seems a little shady is that him being clingy or is that her um... say problem
