| Okay so you've been sending mail and chatting online with someone and you want to talk and text on a phone. So your friends being the great buds they are wanting to look out for your safety tell you to use there phone. Is there anything wrong with useing a friends phone or is it okay to do so.....could it look a little weird?

| Well if you have guy friends then they might think its like a boyfriend or something.......I mean using my friends phone (a guy) would it look weird or make them shy away because of it?

| I actually wouldn't not use a friends phone since if he is a nut job he now has your friends number. I would call him and block my number.
Really simple, I call people all the time, I block my number till I want them to have it.

| Well i would think that if you were at the level where you feel safe and comfortable having a phone conversation then you should be able to use your own phone...I usually wait a month of solid email and IM conversations before I make a phone call....if you are tipped off in email conversations that he may be a little strange then I wouldn't pursue it anymore...If you are scared in anyway then perhaps its not the right time to be calling or there is something about his behavior that you dont really approve. When i am ready, I ask for the phone number and make the first call...

| OOOO maybe thats what I've been doing wrong, I've been sending up smoke signals
using someone else's phone, not so good idea, block numbers if your not sure about the person. public libraries have computers you can long on too, or when in doubt err on the side of caution
