| I don't take heavy duty meds anymore..afraid I'll like them and not wanna stop. I usually just lay as still as possible..lay in bed..and try to wait it out..but tylenol is my friend when back strain season hits.
If I could fit in my bathtub..or anyone's bath tub for that matter, and be able to get back out again, a long , hot soak sounds good..if you have access to a hot tub..even better.
say..there's an idea.if I can't get out to go fishing today..I DO have access to an indoor hot tub..hot tubbing sounds good right now..even if I'm by myself .

| Turtle has a good suggestion with the hot tub or a jacuzzi. Sure the ice, heat and other things may help some, but time is what heals. You may wish to ask your doc for some pain meds also.

| all those thing above work well especially the chiropractor if they are strong enough to really snap you back into place. But my back pains have disappeared after Ive been taking long walks.I suspect that lower back muscles weaken because we tend to walk less as we grow older and richer.the only exercise your lower back gets is lifting things and getting in and out of your car. try a long walk it really works

| You may think this is silly
the worse thing to do when you
have lower back pain is vacuuming.
I could give you some horse tips

| Using a back support for part of the day is helping me... don't use it for too long or it can actually weaken your back muscles. It's good for giving them a break though. The miracle pain relief though, is called Bio Freeze. It's kind of like a deep heat, but you don't have to wrap the area, and it works really well and really fast! My mom got it from her chiropractor. I was hesitant when she told me about it, but it really does work!
I'm having the same problem right now... I get up reeeal slow... especially in the mornings! Bending and lifting... I guess I'm really not 20 anymore! lol...
Hope you feel better soon! Good luck!
