| when he asks you for a date? I think that would be pretty obvious. Kinda like, your suppose to stop when you see a stop sign? duh? And yes.. the woman should pay.. always.. but thats just me;P

| I was taught the guy asks, and the guy pays
But that was a few years ago, now it's ok for the woman to ask a guy out,
I've learned to deal with that.
But I still feel it is the guy's place to pay, even if she asked him out.

| Oh dear god, my parents are so old fashioned, they will be married 48 years on April 18th, and my father is so strict, i am suprised i am alive today. LOL....the man always pays, always, always, always, and generations to come, and the next generation, and the next. A woman should never, ever, ever have to pay according to my mother and father. If she does, then he is no man whatsoever....My mother never ever had to pull out a dime...My father bought her everything she ever wanted. He loved her. They never had sex until they were married...my mother told me go try to find a man like your father, and i bet you cant find him....um.....well im still waiting, and i still dont see anyone yet..... hellooooooooo is anyone out there.......

| Ok, seriously times have changed ALOT! I would just go with the vibe, if the check comes to the table and he is making no move to pick it up, I would pick it up and see what his reaction is.....no better yet, why don't you just ask him before you go out? What is so wrong with being open and honest and letting him know your not sure what the proper thing to do is and just take the conversation from there.
Sometimes I think we fret about things that aren't that important, you won't be able to enjoy your date if your worried about who is going to pay the entire time!

| On a first date, I suggest going dutch if you haven't met yet. Typically, the person asking assumes the responsibility of paying. At least that's how I was taught. The realtionships that I have had in the past, he always paid, and that is the way he was brought up.
