| It's called emotional/mental manipulation. My ex was good at it. He ran off all my friends & family, kept the car from me & we never had a phone. I wasn't even allowed to have stamps to mail letters! Then, when he decided he didn't want to work anymore, he made me get a job, which was the best thing ever for me. I made some friends at work & they helped me get up the guts to kick his lazy a** out. But before that, if I messed up, I always paid in one way or another.

| well at the time I thought it was normal. it wasn't until he let me out to go to work that I found out otherwise. we got married at a young age. my parents kept me very sheltered all the way up till I was 18. I moved in with my bf who turned out to be an abusive drunk & when my ex came along, it was like he was my savior.....boy, talk about out of the pan & into the fire...lol but I've learned alot & it made me a stronger person.

| I think the new technology and need for everyone to work, that isolation is a dying thing, at least lets hope so...it is the information age..jmo

| one, I would hope for that too, but unfortunatly, I still believe if there's a will to isolate someone, there's a way.

| God I sure hope so. The scarey part of it is, is that you don't realize it's happening until it's too late. By then you're like a sheep being herded in the direction the person wants you to go in....
