I personally read every profile, before I ever correspond with anyone, just to get a little taste of what they may be like. Myself, I wrote a very long one, that way I figured, if someone actually read it all the way through, it's probably someone who is really interested. However, if they ask me questions in e-mails, that have that info in my profile, it's thanks for the interest, but no thanks.

i dont think profiles represents us, its easy to lie, and those who made it a career , wont change and some times you know it, but too late, it happens all the time, profiles dont mean that much ,

I am finding you can learn a lot more about people by reading what they post in the forums than by reading their profiles. The real person comes out, maybe because they are not sitting there trying to decide what to say. It comes out naturally.

Forums has it by a nose...I agree with Cosmosin. The profile is how the person felt at the time they set it up. I keep changing mine. It's totally different from when I first joined this site.

The people I have related to the best were and still are forum posters. I tend to let it all hang out, opinionated, funny, nasty, sexy, crazy! It's easy to get drawn into a conversation online when there are a number of people commenting and participating on a forum thread. I have laughed to no end, nerver really gotten mad and I have cried. So I tend to go through the emotions...whoa!?

I've had a blast on the forums and found a number of wonderful friends just by participating in them. I've also seen a number of online forum posting friends find the love of their life and kick US INS to the curb, never to be heard from again ! That's kinda a good thing.

So don't stop sending the e-mails, just start sending them to people you have gotten to know through their postings on the forums. Don't stop reading profiles either. I like looking at the pictures.

....for what it's worth
