| Hi Bob This might be the answer you are looking for ~ some people like to show that they have a lot of friends on their profile. I don't know why. But don't take it personally. If you are new to dating, you must also be new to the internet dating sites where a mixture of good and bad behavior is shown. Just take it in stride and enjoy the people with whom you chat and e-mail. I have many friends on this site, but only a select few are on my profile. Hope this makes you feel better.

| It is polite to respond to an email, unless very, very rude.

| I won't put someone on my buddy list that I haven't emailed back and forth with a few times. I do respond to winks and polite emails. Some however, ask for "hookups" right from the start. Those get deleted.

| I'm with the rest of you. I'm new with this site. I would not add anyone as a friend if I hadn't corresponded with them. Who knows what you may be getting into? Welcome, Bob. I am finding that reading the forums reveals a whole different person than what you see in the profile in many cases. You may want to read through some of the forums even if you don't post. You will find out quickly who you would want on your friend list. There are some great people here and I wish you the best of luck! I usually respond to anyone who writes if they aren't rude or obscene.

| They like to compare. Hey, how many buddies do you have? Who really cares, if they are just faces on your profile. Sort of immature. JMO
