| I was walking by a catering hall. and outside was a woman with a beautiful gown. But on her neck a tattoo of a spiderweb, one eyeball on each breast along with tattoos on her ankles.the question is, where we're all these women 5, 6 , 7 and more years ago when tattoos we're not trendy? and that is my pet peeve, people that do not have a mind of their own. people that follow what is popular and trendy. it says allot about ones mentality. not only would I not date a women that graffitis her body with obnoxious tattoos, but I would not date a women that lives her life following what is in and out.what about all you guys. would you date a walking Bill Board?

| Tattoos are certainly an interesting cultural phenomenon. It is only recently that they have been more widely accepted than before. I think that a person's attitude towards body art would determine whether or not you should date someone with tattoos. If you feel strongly that it is graffiti or you don't like the idea of tattoos for some other reason, than stay7 away.
For me personally, I'd say that some tattoos are pretty damn hot, but there are a lot of other issues I'd consider before I'd worry about piercings or tats.

| I would date a woman who has body art. I like to hear the stories surrounding tattoos. Trendy or not tattoos can augment beauty.

| Well, I actually have two tattoos. No one would ever guess that I do if they saw me at work. I am always in a suit and heels. I didn't get my tattoos until I was 36 or 37. One is on my lower back and has significant meaning to me and one is on my toe/foot. It was just pretty and I liked the way it looked with sandals.
Having said all of that, I got my first tattoo on my back because I had divorced an abusive person. I had low self-esteem, and was pretty messed up. Anyway, I started working out. I lifted weights, walked 2-4 miles a day, worked on my abs constantly. I ended up with the best my body had ever been--including when I was younger. I could wear a bikini to the pool and feel just as confident as a 20 something. So, I decided I wanted a tattoo on my lower back and I wanted it to be a butterfly. I started out as a caterpillar and turned into a beautiful butterfly--mentally and physically. It was a huge thing for me.
I am an amateur artist too, so I really appreciate the artistic abilities of tattoo artists.
I would not want to have a tattoo any place that would show when I didn't want it to show, and I got my tattoos for me, not anyone else. However, being a 41 year old and knowing that you have a hot tat on your back...kinda makes you feel pretty damn sexy.
I say, if it makes you feel good...do it! Just do it for the right reasons, AND put them in places that will suit your lifestyle and your lifelong goals. If you know you are going to be in a professional situation, probably not the best idea to get a tat in a visible area, but if you are in a profession that body art is acceptable, go for it!
I appreciate everyone for their uniqueness. What kind of world would this be if we all were alike and liked the same things without any diversity?? BORING!

| i have tats. i got my first one 9 years ago.. and have 3.. i think it's a form of personal expression....
i think sometimes people nit pic over such small things that they miss out on something great.... i think people do it not just because of a trend. but because they want to... if short hair for guys is in and you get your hair cut because you don't like having long hair... would that make you a trend follower?

| Got mine in 1982 LOL Only about the size of a quarter, very discretely placed and very sentimental. Designed it myself so no one else will ever have one the same. Can only see it if I am wearing a bikini or less, as I had enough sense to know that going into the professional settings I was, they would be a detriment if they were visible. Sorry, but that still holds true for many people even today. I laughed out loud at the idiot chicks that were having their ankles etc done back then. Kicked them right to the bottom of the employment rung. Told my best friend to her face that the rose on her shoulder blade made her look point blank trashy.
Sure, got mine before it was "trendy" as if I have ever cared what was or wasn't trendy. I actually avoid those because I KNOW they are for SHEEPLE. Nope, not getting any more just because they are popular, and no matter what anyone else says, I still think the tramp stamps are exactly that, and yeah, other places look even worse. Will never get another, and when I get the "looks" I sometimes regret the one I do have. Tired of answering all the questions about it LOL

| I think some tattoos are sexy but on the other hand they can be trashy. I personally cant think of anything I want on my body for the rest on my life. So to me depends on what you have and where on the body.

| What is really funny is how the crap people have drawn on their body is seen as art". but on a wall it's seen as graffiti.

| Here we go again. How long will it take some blowhard to jump in damning each incredible woman secure enough to get tats? I thought about it for 20 yrs before I got my first one, after 40. Ten yrs later I got my second. I wear them with pride as they are body art. Seems to me the ppl who call them & us names are the same ones with long fake fingernails & breast implants. JMO

| I doubt I'd date a woman with tats on her neck or down her arms because to me that shows they don't care too much about trying to be halfway presentable in public and at their job if they have one. I guess there are exceptions to where they got them when they were young and kind of regret it now though. Otherwise tats anywhere else are cool. JMO
