Lyrics to the song:

TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
(by Joe Sherman / Noel Sherman)

To the ends of the earth I
I’ll follow my star
To the ends of the earth
just to be where you are.

No matter where you roam
I’ll never be far behind
Who cares where the path may wind
As long as I find you.

Though the melody dies,
the song lingers on.

And a thousand goodbyes
won’t convince me you’re gone.

I’ll follow you, my love, you’ll never be free.
To the ends of the earth,
till you’ve given your love to me.

Sorry, Tommy, that the woman did not have the common decency to at least tell you why she did not want to go further with the relationship. I believe everyone deserves that! But don't feel alone...had it happen to me in the past couple of months with a guy I was dating. All sorts of silly excuses...so I just called and left a voice mail saying that if he didn't want to see me ever again, don't call back...and he didn't LOLOLOL So he is history even if he calls tomorrow.

Along with thank you notes, I think common courtesy has gone the way of the gaslight lamp, ya know?

I would have to be pretty darn sure there was a future there, but if I was sure there was more than just an attraction, short of outter space I don't think I've got enough sense to let my mind overrule my heart so I guess that would be the limit

That is a romantic gesture and I've NEVER had a romantic relationship in my life..That certainly did get the message accross that he's interested...very sweet and thoughtful thing to do....

I have been one who has put too much on the line,, really,, my health, and my freedom,,, Most people select them selves above others,, Self preservation... I know my entire life i have been burned because I went to fare for others... I wish I could be that tough,, I think it would be better,, yet saying I am first and foremost runs against the grain as you will... That's why they say bad things happen to good people,, and the holier than though say they are stupid,,, well I am guilty of caring too much,, can't change that... But sometimes the rewards are really great,, and well,, the loss and pain is to. so some do and some don't ....

I think it is nice when a guy lets you know he is interested as long as he doesn't come on too fast too soon, then it becomes suspicious behavior.
As far as talking and meeting and then no contact without an explanation or closure (Tommy) I think that is just plain rude and I am sorry that you have had to experience that. But be rest assured it has happened to all of us at least once here. Grow a thick skin, and if you ask and no reply....their loss.

i need to be able to trust the person..whom i go out with..talk to them a lot on the instant messaging and have the same interests as i do..or some of them..it takes time..and a lot of caution..the last time it took me 5 years to get into a real relationship again..i hope it's not that long this time but if it does oh well..i want the relationship to last..i want to be spoiled as i would spoil him...holding hands is my number one..flowers are number 2..honesty and sincerety are very important too..

DaveWave...what a Beautiful song.

I think "Grand Gestures" are the sign that you have found your lover and partner in life. Who can say what is too far. It all depends on what is required for you to reach and be with your lover, without expectations or any further requirements....just the promise of seeing happiness in your lovers eyes.

First, when you say "how far would you go?" people think about sex. Just so ya know ...

Affectionate guestures - little things go a long way, over time. I like to send sexy/flirty texts, leave a post-it note where he'll read it (in his car, office, on his computer) record his favorite team's game on the DVR then get him a beer (or other beverage he likes) and watch it with him (even if i'm not into sports), ask him to teach me something, offer him a massage after he plays a sport or hard day at work ..
* little things like that. Just be a sweetie, but remember he's a man - maybe ask your guy friends what they appreciate from their girl?? Guys and girls like different things.

I would go as far as it took without being creepy.

I would let the other person know how I felt, and would hopefully learn how they felt about me through my own actions. It is a wonderful gesture to show somebody that you care, even if it is just a friendship.Ever hear of pay it forward.....

when i was younger probably pretty far. But now i'm older and more conservative. I"m not inclined to bother with things that are not mutual. So if there's courtship, romance, friendship, companionship etc.. It has to be both ways and like intensity, or i'm out. Last thing i would want to do is talk someone into something they didn't really want.. only to have us both suffer for it later.

It was very creative and I applaud the dude, but it depends on how well it was received as well. it sounds like your friend probably liked the guy to begin with If she didn't you wouldn't be telling a story about a sweet guy, but a stalker who had the nerve to invade her space. JMO
