| Just wondering how many of us are former New Yorkers. Now there is a common ground! We meet each other and there is an instant bond. There is a meetup in Northern Va. for former New Yorkers, I would love to start one in Maryland as with the gasoline issue and traffic out that way, it would be nice to have one nearby. Anybody else?

| hello Claire and Arnie. I am from the beautiful island of Manhattan. Moved out to jersey in 1972 and out of Jersey to Virginia in 1997. I was just in Times Square to view a photo my sister took whcih was being displayed on the large Kodak screen as she won Phto of the day. stayed in Brooklyn on 34th street near the veranzano brodge with my aunt.
Do miss NY yet not enough to move back there. like just visiting and getting out to the slow pace world of Virginia. Nice to meet both of you.

As Ole Blue Eyes sang it "if I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere"...and don't we all live up to that??? even though we are transplants...we have that NY spirit that says never quit!!
