| This is only speaking for me personally. I am not going to rush into anything. From being here over a year I have seen people change personalities quickly. Heck, even mine has changed since I have been here. But, my experiences have caused me to be much more cautious. I have children to think about and their safety affects every choice I make.
I just like to really talk to them a lot before I would think about meeting them in person. Each person is different.........luckily I made the leap to meet someone. No, it didn't happen because of early deployment to Iraq........but its okay because we are still getting to know each other while he is gone.......the meeting will happen.

| I'm here to date.  BUT, there seems to be no men in my area that I want to date. So, now what?  Talk? You bet, I wanna talk a while first. If your a long ways away, I'm not going to waste ALL THAT MONEY to meet you if I don't already feel by talking that it's going to be worth it. Some men I've talked to only took three lines to figure out where the ignore or block button is. Example: "So do you have a nice body?"...
Some are a little more suttle but after two or three conversations you realize that either they are perverts, got some mental issues, drunks, or have totally different values and beliefs or hobbies than you. And some, well you click right off, then meet and find they are not the same in person as you perceived them to be online.
LORD THIS IS WORK ISN'T IT?
So yeah, I'm here to date. But unless you live very close, I'm going to seriously seriously take my time!
P.S I've done the long distance relationship thing and find it doesnt work very well with me.

| I understand wanting to take it slow. I want to take it slow as well there are a lot weirdos out there. what I have a hard time understanding is there are a lot of women who want to message once a week or txt for two months to get to know you. I am not looking to go on a date the first day I meet someone online, but would like to move the potential relationship forward not at a stand still JMO

| I've lost dates by not moving as fast as they wished. My thoughts on that is they just wanted to get laid. Blunt but probably true. That is not what I'm looking for. I take it slow, progress at my own pace. I'll write back anytime I get written to, no games. Over time true personalities come out...I want to know what type of person I'm meeting with. There is one in my life that needs and depends on me, is always first in my mind and heart. I can't run off to meet someone in a hope that they will be a decent person...I need to feel it and trust my instincts. I'd rather be safe than sorry, even if it means being alone.

| Hey huck, i would love to date you.....im not the one who wants to sit behind the computer either...i am a happy go lucky kind of gal, vibrant, cant sit still, always on the go....love to dance, sing, anything LOLLLLLLLL, the only problem is, you live over 3000 miles away......well you are a little under 3000 miles......so, you can come get me by plane....stay awhile...my dream is to live in california. my job is relocatable in all 50 states. Isn't life just grand?

| HUCK man I totally agree! I have better things to do then wait or sit at the computer but I'm not in the mood to push it either as rushing things only gets you into trouble!
I have a saying that I try to live by. I don't pray, hope, or dream for anything that way I'm never dissapointed.. Not that I'm a negative guy or anything.

I'll email back n forth and then I'll talk to you on the phone and then the next step after that is to meet up.......I would rather not rush things and just get to know someone first. In the past I have done it different and we didnt work out so now I would like to try it a different way....and get to know you online!

| I like to meet face to face ASAP if I think there might be a possibility of more down the road. Why waste tons of time jabbering?
The first time is a meeting to me to see if we both want to continue dating. Meet in public and trust your instincts and all should be well. I have never had any problems or felt scared.
I haven't met anyone off this site but I do talk to 2 regular that are far, far away.
I also belong to POF and I have met seven from there one on one and also many at a dance they put on this last Sat. For some reason there seems to be more from that site in my area that are willing to meet than this site. Guys just like to talk a lot, too, in many instances.
I just say use common sense and go with what feels right to you.
