Let's see, this is a dating site with forums - but there are also plenty of dating sites with people who post profiles without pics  Why join a dating site without a pic if the purpose is to bring someone to the profile? Then come one of the famous excuses (I want the person to like me for me and not looks  )
My take is that if one joins a dating site for the purpose of meeting and dating they can at least post ONE REAL PIC of themselves. Yes I said real, because you do have FAKE PROFILES.
With regards to people who choose not to post a pic for the purpose of dating, If that's the case, why not go on a date covered so the date won't see how they look since they want someone to know their personality only same principle different circumstance.
I don't know why some play down looks when they know it's important. Wake up call LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT. People just use looks in varying degrees when being selective. And those that believe people when they say looks aren't important at all in my opinion are very naive. Some view looks more than others, but looks are important. But to got back to your question people don't post pics due to the following
1. Employment (type of job)
2. They are married
3. They know they are unattractive, thus do not want to post a pic
4. They are with some type of organization and don't want others to see them online
5. Don't want potential family members, friends to see them online

| bestman i usually agree and a lot of that is true. however,a lot of people who work in the public's eye are simply uncomfortable posting.law enforcement,educators,politicians,business people....etc..... i pulled mine from another site when someone contacted me and told me they recongnized me from my shop.true,pics get more attention but sometimes less is better.

And what is the big gig if you don't want to date someone without a picture DUH! don't
I preferr a picture but this ain't an auction block, you don't put in a quarter and out pops your date, if someone doesn't want to date you, get on with your bad self, another person will. Why do you want to date someone if they don't want date you?

| I think Wiley is right. I used to not talk to shadow people at all unless I saw what they posted in the forums which gave me a general idea about them, but now I do talk to them and ask for a pic in private.......if they can't do that.........see ya.
