I was a heavy drinker for years. Wrecked a few cars. Been arrested 4 or 5 times for drunk driving. I loved the taste. Loved it too much. I didn't drink everyday, but was drunk very often. Was not able to just have one or two drinks. Once I started it was until I was drunk and ready to pass out. Sometimes I would stay drunk for days. I would pop a few pills to be able to keep going.
Man the money I would go through. I wish I had the money back now. It has been close to 20 years since I have been drunk. I drink a glass of wine every now and then. But I do drink a lot of Nothing wrong with that.
Drinking can cause a lot of pain and ruin your life. Nothing wrong with a beer or glass of wine now and then, but when it starts to control your life, it's no good.

toofunny-darlin i have been on a cupple times but i havent relly posted anything to much

lori- just bc you dont drink and drive doesent meen you cant still die from it. my close friend dident drink and drive. he over drank and passed out and dident wake up.

four-ive heard that b4 that it opens you up a little thats what my friends keep telling me but i dont agree. if it works for you i can see doing it one or two that is. im the same way in that i can go whole nights with friends and only say 4 or 5 words and thats with friends. then again i can be with complete strangers and talk the world away. it all depends on my mood and what they are talking about. i more enjoy just sitting there and hrer what they are talking about. you would relly be suprised what you can learn if you just sit back and listen to what is being talked about but then again you know that.

Llama darling-
Once again, you have wisdom in your question.
Personally, I drink every now and then. But I am always the designated driver.
If I know my friends want to drink and wake up by the White bowl in the morning.
I will not be drinking.
On a personal note, I had a friend die behind the wheel from drinking and driving.
That was not fun. I saw it happen I was inthe truck two cars behind. It haunts me to
this day. I vowed that night no more for me. If I drink I stay home.
Drinking can be fun. but, sometimes it isn't.

luv,
bny

Being an alcoholic isn't funny and it really isn't any fun. My Dad was one, things were always chaotic at our house, so you'd think I would know better than to follow the same path! I am 34, have 3 kids, twice divorced, and I am an alcoholic.I started drinking 4 yrs ago, right about Thanksgiving, because I thought it would help me cope with all the family events going on.It did! And now I drink to cope with life in general.I don't enjoy it anymore, but it does dull the pain, and people seem to like me more when I'm drinking. I try to stop all the time, but if something goes wrong I always turn to the bottle to make me feel better.

Lumbee, drinking doesn't solve any problems. It just creates more. You are 34, still very young. You still have time to enjoy life. I have lost at least 3 friends due to drinking. 2 of them in theirs 30's. 1 died while being drunk going to town to buy another bottle. Hit a tree, didn't make it. The other 2 just drank themselves to death.
The drinking is not worth it. Please get help and get off that stuff.

I have tried to get help.Maybe I'm just not in a good area for that, I don't know, but I would like to stop. I've gotten to the point that it's not a want anymore but a need! I can control it sometimes, but I feel like I've gotten so good at hiding it that no one around me really knows the trouble I'm in! I don't know how to stop! And those that don't and have never been in this situation don't understand that you just can't stop because u want to...
