| Wow, so young, yet you know so much already. Good for you.
Your parents must be proud.
To answer your question. peer pressure mostly, untill they become alcoholics, that is.

| Been sober for 23 years. Worked as a paramedic for 4 years and saw things that nobody should ever see or have to deal with, but I still drank till I could not walk. I found that drinking was the easy part, but facing the things in your life that give you pain, is sometimes the hardest thing to do, but it can be done. I don't drink, NO MATTER WHAT

| Hey Llama darlin, havent seen ya in awhile. You are one of few that get that at an early age, unfortunately too many use alcohol as an escape, from reality, from stress, from insecurities, etc and get caught in a cycle because they convince themselves that they need it. Ive never been a drinker because ive never liked the taste and wasn't very impressed with the feeling of drinking. And a smartass with a buzz better that i don't care for it
unfortunately this problem will increase as the end of the school year nears and kids are graduating, for that reason alone June usually makes me cringe thats when we lose kids the most from drinking and driving.

| llama..ill admit as to why i drink (on weekends)...im a very shy person in life...alot more open on the internet...if im out at the bar i drink..it gets me to relax even more...yes i am relaxed around my friends out there..but when it comes to the other ladies im not...and as well i MAY drink while im out fishing...but just a way to relax after a long week of work...but any way you look at it i drink only 1-2 times a week..sometimes not even that....
i have been through the drinking every night...and personally it wasnt very fun...it was a very low point in my life..but i woke up one morning and asked myself what i am doing...
drinking to be happy only makes things worse...it is a temporary solution that digs yourself a deeper hole...i learned that the hard way...

| Our lives bring us to a point that we make decisions to go to the left or the right. I went straight and it works for me.

| I drink maybe once a year if that. I lived with an alcoholic. My 2nd X was a weekend binge drinker and his buzz high was fine until he was getting down from it. Then he had rage. My 10 year old didn't understand and carried on like normal but my 2nd X fuse was very short. I finally had to take my son and myself away from the violence that occurred after his binges.
He still to this day doesn't think he has a drinking problem.

| Drinking is'nt for everybody, those who don't like it don't need it. Those who need it, should'nt drink it. Moderation and common sense is the key. I personally believe pot is a better choice. But, it being illegal has its drawbacks as well. The best thing is just be your natural self, and enjoy life without having to modify your thinking to have fun. A fun drunk can end tragically in a moment.
