| How does one put themselves back into the dating world after you've been with one person for along time? Me and my x broke up over 7 months ago,and I don't know how to act when I'm trying to meet someone. I just clam up and don't know what to say or do. So I just sit there and only respond to questions. What should I do? Really could use some advice.

| You need to realize that you are very young. You have your entire life ahead of you and you will meet many women along the way that will peak your interest. When I was your age, I was married and I will tell you that people change so much between their 20's and 30's. It is the time in your life to go out and have fun. Stop worrying about finding "the one."
Go out, be yourself and have fun. Time heals all wounds and you need to move on. Best way to heal your wounded heart............find a new girl!

| Maybe your not ready yet? And given the profile name you have chosen "brokenheart" you have put a big red flag out there for attracting anyone you would be be attracted enough to engage a converstion with. You are only going to attract caregivers and those who want to try and fix you.

| Hey !!! No whinning!!!! My husband of 32 years (after dating for 3 years) DIED in Dec. of 06 and I am here.
FEARLESS. So what if I have dated in 35 years?????
What should anyone have to fear about something NEW????? If you sit in the dark too long....you will stay there.
GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!! Talk to people. Don't be AFRAID of getting hurt. If you are....one thing is for sure.....you won't find love.....

| You know.......It's soooo weird trying to meet someone after you and your ex broke up. I broke up with my boyfriend about 2 months ago and I still don't know what to do with myself. I work extra hours and then I come on here.....DateHookup and chat with some cool guys but in the back of my head I just keep thinking......." Will I ever be comfortable with someone again?" I know when I meet anyone for the first time, I can have fun no matter what and I will always make the best out of any situation. I will always have a good time when I meet someone. But being on that level of Comfort makes me nervous. It's so frustrating. I chat with some great guys on here but I am soooo nervous because I have to start over and I just want to be comfortable with that person.

Better to take the time to be comfortable with yourself first. It will take time, but if you use that time to improve yourself in various ways it will only make your life better and you will be in a much better place when your  opens itself to someone else again.
I wish had a better answer for you . . . it took me three years to get where I am actually thinking about loving someone romantically again.
Now if only I didn't have to change homes every 90 days . . . .

| You think 7 months is bad what about 4 years. Even though I was married I had no kind of relationship with my ex husband within the "so called" marriage. And you are only 20. Try being 45 with children and see how you deal with that. Geez louise you people are always whinging...........................

| People just love to whine  . anyway as to the post highschool sweethearts is a hard thing to lose. When mine and I broke up we both did silly things (I found him through classmates) I know its hard to lose your FIRST love but you have to move on you can not hurry love when talking to a "girl" and get the "sweats" close your eyes and picture one of your male friends instead of her, it might help, just because it is a she does not mean she does not know about cars, sports, computers or whatever interests you only way to find out is ask her and find something you both have in common and go from there!

I'm sure its way harder when ur 45 with kids. But don't just pass judgement on me cuz I'm young. I know there are better people outthere. I'm just looking for some good advice on meeting them.
