| Hi, Was wondering if someone could explain to me why woman do not date men with handicaps. I ask this because I have one. Sure there are things I cant do but their
is a lot of stuff I can do . Do woman not date men with handicaps because there afraid what other will think or say. But if woman only knew its not what a person can or can
not do its the person inside that makes you smile,laght,or cry

| As Im learning thru this website, alot of people arent even intersted in getting to know you before they judge you by not having a picture or being honest and telling about your physical self. I know chemistry is important but cant chemistry grow as you get to know someone? I think thats possible. Id love to belive in love at first sight but I also know love grows with time. Keep looking, dont give up. There is someone for everyone.

| Danny I think that you are over generalizing. I pursued one of my long time friends about a year ago who became a quadraplegic (spelling?) when he was 15 due to a hockey accident. He only has control over his head and neck as well as partial control over his left hand. I tried making it clear that I wanted to be more than friends with him but for whatever reason he pushed me away. I started seeing someone shortly after I lost all hope of dating my guy friend. I started visiting and talking to my friend less and less  Around Thanksgiving of last year my friend told me that he was interested in dating me all along but felt that he didn't deserve me. I told him that I was currently with someone. I think i hurt him because we haven't spoken since.

| Please don't lump all women into one category. Generalization is the kiss of death & prospective dates are now seeing this in your thread. I have dated both a quad & a parapalegic...believe me, they were a hell of a lot more "manly" than some of the able-bodied men that I've met. Perhaps it's your attitude rather than your disability that's holding you back...I do wish you luck......

| Ok to set the record straight. I met a guy recently who had a handicap but I wasn't attracted to him. On the other hand there is a guy who I see at my local shopping centre who is permanently in a wheelchair and I have actually caught myself staring at him before. He is very hot but he always seems to have a million women around. Hope that helps.

This is what you must project. This is what you want women to see. Your concern that women don't look past your handicap will always show in your eyes. You are able to take care of your day-to-day activities, work toward goals, get involved with projects...whatever it is that you do only happened because you did not let your handicap get in your way; you did not focus on it. Why focus on it when it comes to meeting someone?
Don't generalise with your statement, then again, how much effort have you put into finding someone? You can't let the impressions of a few keep you from pressing forward.
