Whatever age you chose to have a Child is up to you. As long as it doesn't endanger your health or the health of the Child. I know people that have waited til 40 to have a Child, and they are extremely good and loving parents. By the time some people reach their late 30's they have established a career and feel ready to have a family. Just make sure to be checked out well by your Dr.

I don't think so. Women are marrying later in life, so it stands to reason that women would be having children at an older age.

people have kids at all ages nowadays.
personally,i wouldn't want to start at that age.

my youngest will be 7 soon and i'm past changing diapers and sleepless nights.im also very active with them now and i have the energy to do so.i doubt in 10 years i'll have the same.it's also nice to be the approximate age of their friends parents.easier to relate to on many levels.
on the flip side,for some having their career goals met can make things easier.at that age you can usually afford time off for a sabattical for an extended period,have fewer job worries,cut your hours or even work from home.

anybody would have to put thought into it and weigh the pros and cons in their own situation.i would also suggest taking into account the pros and cons for the child.

well even god can have a sence of humor with the spayed looks like but the question was no invite when I do not know anyone yet well enought to do that kind of thing yet. I just had a debate with my mom over some surgery and she said I should maybe have it and when I told her that I might still want to have kids some say she said I was to middle aged to be considering a child specially with my medical problems and thought a woman of even 38 is not middle age to me for that specially when my mom knows my grandma had her last baby at 42 years of age. All I am saying is if my grandma can have a baby at 42 with everything she had wrong with her and it still was healthy why is it so shocking that I might have the same thing some day down the road. I just want to see if others think 38 is to middle age to want the all american womans dream. Why should having medical problems mean stop being human with the same dreams as any one else.

Well I think it has to do with the person themselves. What is their health like? Are they active? Are they financially ready to have a baby. I Personally wouldn't do it. I had my children at a young age by choice. I wanted to raise my children, then still be young enough to do what ever I wanted later in life.

I know for me, just the thought of having a baby now makes me shudder. Sorry, I am way past the 2 am feedings, the potty training, the terrible two's. I know I dont have that type of energy now at my age. I am not adverse to dating someone with Children, But to have one of my own NO not happening.

Someone in their late 30's well, if they choose to do it I hope they look at the health risks, long term. They will be in their late 50's when that child graduates from high school then you have what 8 more years at least to help them thru college. That is a huge responsibility to take on when you should be thinking of retirement and fun..

Bottom line, if the person wants to do it more power to them. I believe in all honesty this is very personal choice and should be treated as thus. I have friends that are in their early 40's just starting their families. They think I was nuts to have mine young I think they are nuts to have theirs late.
Except they all ask me to knit booties and such..

Thats why I posted this here I am wondering the same thing does 38 have to be a cut off to wanting kids and not have a heart for wanting them like anyone else along with the having the fist boyfriend courtship time then the marriage time then start having kids heck yes I started trusting men eveough to want to date at a late age but even I had to get thi ngs right in my head before I let a guy near me, if I had at a much youngger age I would probly most likly not even try to appreciate a guy then. Yes I pick at guys but I also know my mind on the type person I want to have a kid with and it sure is not the type guy that gets ask where his wife and baby are and the guy looks up at at the gas attended says they are off on another one of their vacations or the same gas attendent looks in the car and sees the baby being held and the gassattendent looks again and says what happened to the baby and the so called father looks up and says oh they were just in a wreck them type men are not for me and any baby I have if I ever have one, but I still say age has nothing to do with being a good parent and for sure even a disability has nothing to do about determining if your going to be a gereat parent too. Age is just a number. Its the heart that counts
