| While I appreciate the "backup", thor22, there is no need for you to be rude.
"Obese" is a clinical term. Synonyms are "overweight", "overfat", etc.
"Hefty" is derogatory in this context and represents an "ad hominem" attack: an attack "against the man" (i.e. person, in the gender-neutral sense) instead of a rebuttal of the argument they are making, and does not say much for the point you are trying to make.

| my geez people, if i knew yall were gonna sit here and verbally bash each other over a simple question i would not have asked anything!! theres no need to criticize one's opinion. it may seem like a criticize men when i believe that they discriminate against big women, but its not that, its a curiousity as to why they dont give us plus size women a chance. yes everyone has their preferences but my goodness, i think some of you take these threads/forums/whatever WAY too seriously (and i think we all know who im talking about). i just do it for peoples perspectives.
for the record, i respect all opinions but if u cross the line and start insulting people, dont expect anyone to sit back and let it slide.
dont dish out what you cant take

| Well, "Hefty" means requiring "heft", that is "strength" to move. So, yes, it does mean heavy (which does not necessarily mean fat: a 200 lb 5'8" man who is all muscle requires heft to move, but he would be "ripped").
But, we don't usually move people as we do things.
Thus it is derrogatory in this sense.
There are many ways to rebut a person's arguments. The simple fact that we, as individuals, have difficulty being physically attracted to them is not one of them, however.
