| in the past 30-40 years with the advent into mass mediums and the practice of femininity/sexuality in sales promotions ...producers have leaned heavily on lean heavily (is that an oxymoron..?).
thus society in the western hemisphere (of which i would be familiar) has been much socially conditioned to accept leaner women as more attractive...for whatever reasons.
i won't go into the detailed complexities of such a process of selection nor am i sure i know so completely but it remains....males and females have witnessed a rise in popularity of lean (in places) ladies.
you use the word "discriminate" and i am not sure that the relationship of lean to more than lean is one of discrimination but certainly if lean ladies have been earning at a greater increase than more than lean we learn that leaning on lean creates increased vanity for slim. (..hey..maybe anorexia is a competition to disappear with economic success or social acceptance..personal acceptance...i don't know).
the more than lean ladies are making a comeback. recently they have been so busy catching up to the lean ladies for economic success that they are losing their more than lean appearances.
and i think that is just great...
not that i discriminate against more than lean.
i love all of you. but shucks...even more than lean ladies have been politically conditioned. so i guess that makes them as dangerous as the lean ones.
and besides...who wants a lean man like me to lean on when i am disappearing.
you may fall down......

| bella i have hypothryoid problem and am a bit bigger; but i dont put it off on my hypothryoid disease. first of all there are men out there that like woman with some meat on their bones; for you to say thin is in is just sad. i still have men attracted to me. everyone has there on taste; i dont have a problem with a man not being interested with me because of my weight to each their own; most love me for who i am and i have been on the small side of things.

| I have herd many men voice that they perfer woman with a littl meat around the bones, that does not mean that obese or overly fat is acceptable. Yes there are health issues with being overwieght. Just for the record, if you look back in history folks there was a time around the world that plump was in. Why do you think there was the bussle. ha ha ha ha

| i understand blue, i am talking about the morbidly obese.....everyone holds their own weight differently....i held my weight at 190 very well....but i did not feel right..i felt very heavy and could hardly move. People saw a little change but not a drastic change. I could see that drastic change.....People who are morbidly obese can do something about it...if your man says that you look just fine, you are still going to sit there and stuff your face? I wouldnt.....i am still going to get up and walk, start a diet thats right for me that is healthy and do something about my weight....i am going to ask my boyfriend to walk with me....he could shed some pounds too....no fat, no sugar, no salt...just a nice low fat diet...i dont do the carb counting thing. too complicated.... Everyone could stand to shed some pounds. It is not going to kill them.....I treat myself once a week. I will go and have a hot fudge sundae, or i will go eat at mcdonald's and call it a day....because if i dont i will deprive my body, and it will make me crave the foods that i do want more. you have to do that when you are on a strict diet. If anyone knows about diets, it is me. I am the EXPERT...but yet all metabolisms are different. I lost 150 pounds in nine months. yes i did not mis-type..nine months. Kind of fast isnt it? Sure i gained some weight back, but i lost it too.....there were no gimmicks, there were no strange diets, no jenny craig, no weight watchers, no herbal supplements, just cut the fat, watch what you eat, and i did alot of walking because i have asthma....i cant work out like men do..i cant do the treadmill....i cant run or jog....i cant do cardio......i cant do aerobics or i will start to wheeze, so i dont want to hear any excuses. All i can do is walk and tone up my muscles.....
Remember, NO EXCUSES....get off the couch, and lets roll.....5 a.m. comes early ladies. put the twinkies down, lets eat some shredded wheat with 1 percent milk, and lets jog, jog, jog, jog, if not walk in place, thats what i do.....

| no offense bella but not everyone that is big eats like that! i work as a waitress so i run my a** off everyday at work and i do walk. i understand what your saying though about the really big ones though!

| I do not know what guys truly like....I am not over weight but I am at the higher end of the weight limit for my height. I like to think that I am Volumpious...I am a beautiful woman just the way I am and I still have not been able to date. I have seen women who way several hundred pounds and they have no problem getting boy friends...I on the other hand have not even had a dinner date...go figure.....I am still awaiting the right man...so I really do not think it is about weight....it is all about the attitude. | I haven't read the thread...just the initial question by the OP.
I don't think anyone "discriminates" against anyone. People have preferences...nothing more, nothing less. A man will like what he likes, just as a woman will like what she likes. Nothing wrong with that.
Enjoy who you enjoy, and expect to be enjoyed by those that enjoy you. Those that don't should not be your concern. None of us can make someone like us or want us....so why concern ourselves with those who don't??
