| There are a lot of reasons, some of them could be:
insecurity about being alone
fitting in with people around them (not wanting to be a fifth wheel)
regular sex
comfort
No doubt many more. Life circumstance such as age, children can also be factors.

NOTE: not all relationships are special.
Being in love, is the best *feeling inside your mind and spirit*...
You love to be with that person, like a best friend.
Having fun, sharing memories, traveling,
going to work what ever...does not matter what it is..
it just feel great to have a *bond*
with another person that adores you,
and you them...words are inadequate...to
relay the feeling.
I hope you will find this MAGIC feeling...you will know it,
when it happens.
When your relationship is broken,
nothing else can replace it.

| I simply like companionship! Sharing laughter, being with someone who you can have true fun with and be yourself.I love affection...geez, even my dog loves affection...it is natures way of nuturing the soul.I think men want it just as much as women. They just show it differently. A healthy relationship is a very good stress reliever and gives off very healthy endorphines.
Love is a special emotion that cannot be shared with just anyone. It is unique each time you experience it. Just feels good and I really blossom when in love or even with someone I am getting to know while dating.I am not ashamed to admit I desire a good man in my life.

| This is a very good thread.From my point of view people like relationships for alot of reasons that are quite obvious.To have someone to share good and bad times with.To know that if they would like to go somewhere special that they have that person to enjoy it with.I went with a woman that didn't want to commit to me and be around all the time,and I fell head over heels for her.However I couldn't count on her to be there if I really needed her,when I would have been there for her no matter what it was.There were times that she said that we would spend the weekend together and she wouldn't show and I couldn't reach her.People want relationships so there will be someone there who cares.

Well you are young and quite attractive. You're going to be a huge ego boost for any guy who gets you to cry uncle and admit you're their girlfriend. So they are naturally going to insure your allegiance and then parade you around like arm candy. The older the guy the more amplified this is going to be.

To ask why everyone wants to be in a relationship is like asking a water delivery guy if he needs a glass of water.
People want to be in a relationship for:
Intimacy
Communication
Shared Interests
To make it better understandable:
kissing, holding hands, cuddling, touching, sex
talking about politics, music, favorite things, life, etc.
same enjoyable sports and hobbies
