| A man didn’t understand how televisions work, and was convinced that there must be lots of
little men inside the box, manipulating images at high speed. An engineer explained to him
about high frequency modulations of the electromagnetic spectrum, about transmitters and
receivers, about amplifiers and cathode ray tubes, about scan lines moving across and down a
phosphorescent screen. The man listened to the engineer with careful attention, nodding his
head at every step of the argument. At the end he pronounced himself satisfied. He really
did now understand how televisions work. "But I expect there are just a few little men in
there, aren’t there?"-- Douglas Adams, ..

| "I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the
kind that we experience in ourselves. Neither can I nor would I want to conceive of an
individual that survives his physical death; let feeble souls, from fear or absurd egoism,
cherish such thoughts. I am satisfied with the mystery of the eternity of life and with the
awareness and a glimpse of the marvelous structure of the existing world, together with the
devoted striving to comprehend a portion, be it ever so tiny, of the Reason that manifests
itself in nature."-- Albert Einstein, The World as I See It

"The enlightenment is under threat. So is reason. So is truth. So is science, especially in
the schools of America. I am one of those scientists who feels that it is no longer enough
just to get on and do science. We have to devote a significant proportion of our time and
resources to defending it from deliberate attack from organized ignorance. We even have to
go out on the attack ourselves, for the sake of reason and sanity."-- Richard Dawkins,

"Sagan does not deny the existence of God. Nor does he affirm it.- "Absence of evidence is
not evidence of absence." What Sagan does do is insist on the primacy of scientific method
and scientific evidence, and he holds the many and various "proofs" of God's existence up to
these scientific standards. Most are found wanting. But Sagan is not harsh in his critiques
of religious thought; he is more perplexed by theology's narrow and unimaginative
vision.-Sagan took his own spirituality seriously -- indeed, he defined science as "informed worship."---

| Lees,
The problem with your logic, is, You are intellectualizing GOD, for one, and God is spirit, according to all faiths including your own Christian faith. you are turning a spiritual being into a Human being.
You are making Intellectual judgments regarding what is good and bad. in reality , according to Shakespear ,"NOTHING, is good or bad till thinking makes it so". what is, is. You can only react to any given situation at any different moment.
you cannot cross the same river twice. same thing, nothing IS, because nothing is static. that is an illusion of the mind, and there is no "sort of right", it is, what it is.

| Lees,
Why do you think there are sides?
Science is How evolution happened, it doesn't say who started it or why, just how we got where we are.
science is in NO WAY opposite, or in competition with God, or creation. creation is a proccess, and science tells us how that proccess worked, period.
You are being like the guy witht he television set, you are looking at science as seperate from creation, rather than the means by which it occurred.
why?
